So, who is hitting London (other than Ben and myself)?

Right, it's but a few short weeks until The Hip hit the UK.
I'll be in London, who else is coming along? It would be good to get a meet up organised!

Hi Matt. Can't really do London on a Monday night with no leave left. Am stretching things to get the 2 days off for Glasgow, but my Manchester tickets arrived at the weekend which has racked up the excitement for the shows somewhat. It's going to be amazing seeing the band in such small venues - the Academy 3 really is tiny. If Gord opts to go into the crowd there all he'll have to do is step off the stage! Is this the forst time they've played English gigs outside London? Definitely since I first started seeing them which was TATH tour. They did Glastonbury once, but I think that was circa FC? They did scedule a Cardiff gig on the IVL tour I recall, in the Coal Exchange, and I had a ticket for that. But it was cancelled

.

:what Looks like I'll be there! For both the London and Manchester shows.
For any Torontonians sitting on the fence, AirTransat had a great price on a flight today that fits in perfectly to these two UK dates. I've been checking flight prices since the middle of the summer and finally got lucky today!
Whoooo! :jump So quick...tell me everything I need to know about London and Manchester! haha!

Well, Zenith is the best guide to London, as he lives there, but to be honest LOndon is one of those cities that is a little bit of everything.
When are you arriving? We can arrange a meet up prior to the show.

According to the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels, the show(s) will feature two sets like most of the tour so far (in case anyone had doubts):
19u00 : deuren
20u00 - 21u00 : set one
21u20 - 22u30 : set two

Sarah
Great that you are coming over

. Manchester is not my home town (I live in (relatively) nearby Leeds), and will be driving over the Pennines for the gig, but I get there pretty often and it's a good city to wander around. Would be fun to meet up before the show - there's some pretty good bars near the venue as the Academy is in the University area.

Well, I'll arrive in London very early in the morning of the 30th. I'll take the train to Manchester on the 2nd, then head back to London on the 3rd and fly out on the 4th! I'd love to meet some "international" Hip fans!
I notice my London Hip ticket (I got the print-out kind) says "The Tragically Hip Plus Special Guests". Hm....
But, glad to hear the Manchester venue is really small! Definitely will be a couple of memorable shows for me!

Cool, well I'll be around then and being as Zenith lives in LOndon he'll be about too.

Would love to be able to see the Euro shows.
If anyone is going to the shows in Belgium and needs a reprieve on one of the Hip's nights off, go check out The Cave Singers at a place called "Toutpartout @ Botanique" on Nov 28th.
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.myspace.com/thecavesingers">http://www.myspace.com/thecavesingers</a><!-- m -->
Also featuring The Great Lake Swimmers.

The Hip on the 27th and 29th, sandwiched with the Cave Singers and the Great Lake Swimmers on the 28th in Brussels would melt my face off.
If I win the 6/49 on Wednesday, I'll see you there!

I'll be catching the GLS show in Paris the week before. The show in Brussels is actually Tony Dekker in solo, as he'll be touring with Jason Molina and Will Johnson after the current GLS tour ends (I'm going to that show in Paris too).

Is anyone doing the Groningen/Utrecht/Amsterdam triple-header? Barring catastrophe or a sudden attack of common sense, I'm going to try to book tickets Monday.
