KingLear Wrote:I have a question?

Why are the setlists during the European shows so much shorter then in Canada or USA.
I am jealuos to see that a setlist inLA counts 25 numbers and overhere in the Netherlands about 18.
It's the exchange rate. (ba-dum-bum-ching!)

Actually, you might get longer setlists this time around, if they stick with the "evening with" two-set set-up they've been using so far this tour.

Thanx Chris and Sullivand for the answers.

Well I hope to see overhere the same kind of show.
But whatever it will be it is always to short.
The longer the better.

Maybe somebody who knows more about it can post a complete list of dates and update it as they're added much like with the setlists this tour? I'd do it but I won't keep it up nearly as much as necessary.

My bad...

Out of curiousity, have the Hip played Ireland before? I think it would be cool to go and see them right before Christmas....

They have; and I have a DVD from a show in Ireland. I'll dig it out this week and confirm the details.

Was it 2006 when they cancelled the Cardiff gig, they did Ireland, London, then had to skip Cardiff (which was a shame as ai was on the train there when I heard)

I could be(and probably will be) wrong...

Re: Official 2009 Tour dates - Overseas Edition - MattyM - 07-07-2009

so, anyone started looking at hotels for the London show... I'm booking up at the end of the month and thought it might be nice for anyone who is going to be in the same area, to make things easier.

Re: Official 2009 Tour dates - Overseas Edition - scuttler - 07-09-2009

Long time fan, newbie here though, just registered to say "hell, yeah, Glasgow" :jump.

Anybody else up for the Glasgow gig? I'm soooo stoked for this already and it's not until December.

I've never managed to catch the Hip live before. I got given a copy of Fully Completely just after the UK tour (I think they played King Tut's?) and I've been waiting for a gig somewhere other than London ever since so that's what? 16, 17 years?

Re: Official 2009 Tour dates - Overseas Edition - MattyM - 07-10-2009

Hey Scuttler, welcome to Hipbase!

Wish I could be there in Glasgow, sadly though I can only make the London show, any more than that and my fiancee will never let me live it down (wedding next year and cash at a premium...)

Re: Official 2009 Tour dates - Overseas Edition - Shane Kroeker - 09-01-2009

Here are some cheap European flights: Perhaps the deal will carry over to the dates of the Hip shows?
http://www.redflagdeals.com/deals/main.php/alldeals/comments/canadian_affair_flights_to_the_uk_from_99_one_way/
Round-Trip:
Toronto to Glasgow, October 11-22: $585 with taxes
One-way flight:
Vancouver to London (Gatwick), October 9: $239 with taxes
Toronto to Manchester, October 18: $330 with taxes
Toronto to London (Gatwick), October 22: $260 with taxes

Worth exploring if you were considering making the pond leap.

Re: Official 2009 Tour dates - Overseas Edition - chris - 09-01-2009

I'm going to Glasgow and Dublin! Sadly the REALLY cheap flights aka charters don't fly when The Hip are in Europe...

Why the hell is a flight from Vancouver cheaper than a flight from Toronto? Is it not a much longer flight? Is my ignorance showing?
