I second that whole heartedly. I'm still nursing this awful windburn from Sunday's game....they'd better make my pain worth it!

How incensed will Eagles fans be if (or should I say when) Philly loses its fourth-consecutive NFC Championship game? Will the O-line be able to protect McNabb from a good pass-rushing Falcon D? Can the Eagle D stop the best triple-threat rushing attack in the NFL? Vick, Dunn, & Duckett spell T-R-O-U-B-L-E for the city of Man-on-Man Love! Or wait - that's not right is it? The city of Motherloving? Ah - you know what I mean....

O.K. This has nothing to do with the Superbowl as such, but it is football related and very funny. (Especially if you are a GB fan.) Enjoy....

John Elway, after living a full life, died. When he got to heaven, God was
showing him around. They came to a modest little house with a faded Broncos
flag in the window. "This house is yours for eternity, John," said God.
"This is very special; not everyone gets a house up here." John felt
special, indeed, and walked up to his house. On his way up the porch, he
noticed another house just around the corner.
It was a 3-story mansion with a Green & White sidewalk, a 50 foot tall
flagpole with an enormous PACKERS logo flag, and in every window, an Packers
emblem. John looked at God and said "God, I'm not trying to be ungrateful,
but I have a question. I was an all-pro QB, I won 2 Super Bowls, and I even
went to the Hall of Fame." God said "So what's your point John?" "Well, why
does Brett Farve get a better house than me?" God chuckled, and said "John,
that's not Brett's house, it's mine."

I heard a hockey version of that, where Patrick Roy was the one who died, and God's house was full of Toronto Maple Leaf paraphernalia... but yeah, that is a good joke, I like it a lot.

27-10 final score, way to go Eagles! Atlanta's offence took a stinker in the second half, I think Vick didnt have a very good game, he only ran for 9 yards in the second half, what a letdown for Falcons fans. I thought it would of been a closer game, but Mc Nabb looked great and led the team well. So much for my picks this year, I stunk.

Congrats Eagles fans. Philly looked like a team that absolutely wouldn't be denied.

Now... can someone explain what the heck is going on in Pittsburgh? I thought for sure this would be a war all the way to the end, but right now it's NE in a romp... 24-3. I've been waiting for someone to knock off the Patriots in the playoffs... looks like I will continue to wait in vain.

- Lizard King - 01-23-2005

Whats with the playoffs this year? Boooooooooo Pittsburgh, you bums, they barely got by the Jets and now the Pats are making them look like shit, not a team that was 15-1. Its over 41-20 in the 4th. Patriots will win the Super Bowl again, boooooooooooooooooo! I hope Philadelphia kicks their ass. :x

Good thing I bet on philly and New England, they both looked great and won me $250! :thumb: The early spread for the superbowl is New England by 6.5, sounds like a tough one to call. I might lean towards philly to atleast cover the spread??

- NMAS - 01-24-2005

New england will Crush Philly just like they have crushed everyone else, how can you go against them, They beat the best quarterback, lit up the best defense, what does philly have...not much really.

- VioletlightHeron - 01-24-2005

I have to like Philly's chances. They have two weeks to get T.O. on the field(as much as I dislike him for being a jerk, he is a superb player) and their defense is much better compared to previous attempts. I think this one will be a squeaker. Key aspects for Philly will be Donovan having a performance that at least matches Brady and the defense holding together.

- go(r)d - 01-24-2005

I think New England takes it, and beats the spread by a few points. I don't even think it will be close. A low scoring game, because the Beagles' defense will dog the Patriots, but it'll be a 10-point difference in the end.

- VioletlightHeron - 01-24-2005

From what I remember, the Pats secondary is pretty beat up and they have a wide reciever filling in for Tyrone Poole so if Terrell gets on the field I think the Pats defense is going to have a hard time stopping him.

Owens won't be much of a factor if he plays anyway. He'd be nowhere close to 100 percent. Besides, the Colt's WR corps is the best is the game and they didn't do jack against the Pats. Manning is a better QB than McNabb and Harrison is as good as TO. Harrison,Wayne, and Stokley are also far superior to Mitchell, Owens, and Todd (I'm scared to catch the ball) Pinkston. Also, the chances of McNabb playing on equal terms with Brady are very slim IMO.

As much as I hate the Pats and Eagles, I respect both teams for making it to the Super Bowl. I respect the Pats more because of the teams they beat to make it and their consistent domination the last few years. Face it, the NFC is far inferior to the AFC. The Falcons???????? Atlanta would be lucky to be a wildcard playoff team if they were in the AFC. Congrats to the Eagles but they haven't proven much to me yet. The Falcons have an average at best secondary and average at best receivers and have an average QB who, although the most exciting player in the game, is more style than substance at this point in his career. I'd say the SB may be close but NE will be in control the whole way and whether it's close or not, I don't think there will be much doubt who the winner will be. As much as it pains me to say it, Brady is this era's Joe Montana and is the most clutch QB in football. Brady knows how to win and he's proven it time and time again.

Congratulations to the Philadelphia Eagles for finally getting that monkey off their backs...they looked like the hungrier team out there yesterday, and finally played like they wanted the NFC Championship. McNabb got it done this time, and Brian Westbrook was his usual impressive and versatile self...

Unfortunately, they must face the reigning NFL dynasty in the Super Bowl, who quite frankly seems invincible to me - Dillon is a strong, reliable back, Brady is a proven winner, Vinatieri is nails, the defense is loaded with blue-collar roughnecks that don't know when to quit, and Belichick is easily the best head coach currently in the NFL - and may prove to be the best of all-time. The whole organization is solid from the top down. You cannot bet against them.

I'll take the Patriots and give the points, healthy TO or no. And Chowderheads - please, no bitching, whining, crying or moaning from any of you over anything for a minimum of two decades, okay? Two Super Bowl wins in three years, three Super Bowl appearances in four years, and a possible World Series / Super Bowl sweep is more than most sports fans could ever hope for........
