The NFL playoffs started today WooHoo! I just finished watching the Rams vs. Seahawks game, what a close one, that reciever should of caught that pass in the end zone on the last play, what a heartbreaker for Seattle. Rams win 27-20. I hope the Jets upset San Diego next, I hate the Chargers. I pick the Jets to upset em. Lets hear your picks and thoughts on the playoffs as they unfold. Anybody got any Super Bowl predictions??? Lets hear em......
Tomorrow I say the Colts destroy the Broncos and The Packers will beat Minnesota.
As for the Super Bowl, Im not sure yet, that AFC conference is a killer, Colts, Steelers, Patriots, Chargers, Jets and Broncos...thats gonna be a tough call. The NFC is a little easier Philly, Green Bay, Atlanta, Rams, and Vikings. Should be a good one this year :thumb:

This weekend...
St Louis beats Seattle (I got ties to ol' St L and it was heartbreaking to see the Cards fold like rags in the World Series)
San Diego beats NY but only by a hair
Indianapolis beats Denver (it could happen!! I have too many friends in that neck of the woods, so they're another sentimanteal fave)
And this one's tough but I'm gonna have to say Green Bay beats Minnesota

I must admit, I'm surprised to see the Jets leading the Chargers right now... I thought the Jets had no momentum coming in. I hope the Chargers come back to win... I like their comeback story and I've always liked Drew Brees. St. Louis and Seattle was a good game, but the Rams better enjoy it as I think they get beat next week... although in the weak NFC you can't be too sure.
Tomorrow Indy whips the tar out of Denver and Green Bay beats Minny on a last-second field goal, just like the regular season.
As for the Super Bowl, I hope Indy wins it, but I don't know if they can get by New England or Pittsburgh on the road. If not the Colts, then anyone but New England is fine with me. Belichick is a great coach and all that, but he's got the personality of a kick to the groin, and their team is a faceless machine... it would be nice to see someone interesting win it this year. I can't remember the last time a rookie QB won a Super Bowl, but I think R-berger and Pittsburgh get the job done this year against whichever NFC sacrificial lamb makes it through... I'm gonna guess Philly, even without T.O.

Damn, I can't believe the finish to that Jets-Chargers game. Looked like the Chargers were out of it, then it looked like they'd win, then they lost. Poor Marty... hopefully the press doesn't beat up on him for another playoff loss, because you can't blame it on him (well except maybe for the too-conservative play calling on their last drive when maybe they could have gotten closer). Good finish though... that's why playoff games are so much fun.
Look out for San Diego next year... I'm betting they bounce back in a big way from this.

Dammit! Im sorry I missed the end of the Jets game, I had to go out during the 3rd quarter and I missed it. I picked the Jets, I knew I smelled an upset, way to go Jets 20-17 over the Chargers :thumb: I heard the Jets coaches got into a fight on the sidelines, how wild is that. Good game though, today should be even better. Packers and Colts today :thumb:

Take these for what theyre worth, considering I would have picked Seattle and San Diego yesterday.
Indy deficates on Denver
GB over Minny
NE over Indy
Pit over NYJ
Philly over STL
ATL over GB
NE over Pit
Philly over ATL
NE over Philly

Those seem like sound picks, but after careful medidtation and several beers, I have to go with the Colts all the way! Im probably wrong but we'll see, I have a feeling their offence will be too much.
Colts over Pats
Pitts over NYJ
Philly over STL
ATL over GB
Colts over Pitts
Philly over ATL (tough call)
COLTS WIN SUPER BOWL!!!
Am I nuts or what?

regarding the rams seahawks game, hasselback had an amazing game and you cant blame anybody but the recievers they are brutal, how they missed that many passes i'll never know, especially the last play an nfl calliber reciever should make that catch. I really think Pittsburgh's gonna take it this year. with guys like rothlisberger, ward and burres and not to mention the bus this team still doesnt seem to get the respect they deserve, 15-1 thats amazing and they did beat new england this year. i think they'll have their number in the afc championship. regarding the nfc, i like green bay i thought it would have been philly but losing owens is a huge blow and i dont think pinkston can step it up for them, mcnabb and westbrook are gonna have to do all the work. anyways it should be an exciting playoffs if yesterdays games are any indication.

Colts win! 49-24 an ass-whoopin like we thought, good start for Peyton and Co. that offence is lethal, Manning had 457 yds. second most in playoff history, look out. I thought the D did a decent job, Im not too worried, even if they give up 24 points a game I still think they'll win, they are always good for at least 30 points a game. Bring on the Pats next.

Brutal! What happened to Green Bay? They stunk it up today, they didnt show up until the 3rd quarter. The turnovers killed them big time, that was a sad display by the Pack. Vikings win 31-17, I goofed on that one.

No surprise with the Colts.
I am VERY surprised with the Vikings! I thought the way they were playing, plus the whole Randy Moss distraction, would sink the team. Instead they came together and played very well, helped by another poor defensive effort by Green Bay and a pretty bad day by Favre... I just don't think he has it like he used to. Still don't see the Vikes beating Philly, but they did well to get this far.
By the way, anyone who watched the game, what did you think of Moss's display in the end zone after his 2nd touchdown? It probably wasn't the right thing to do, but I thought the announcer really made too much of it. I don't know, maybe I'm just getting immune to stupid acts by athletes! Anyway, what did you guys think?
