You don't think a live albums are a good example of a persons work?
Really?
The Hip have made their careers out of molding songs on the road.
The studio albums just get the songs out to the masses.
The live setting lets the songs out of their cages.

Well said.
Like Gord once put it: "We're not trying to hide the lights. The live show is like the Big Apple in Colborne, where you can watch the bakers do their thing..."
Live is Best.

Even though I agree with your opinions about LBU,
I'm standing firm with DFN and FC as the best Hip albums.
And I'm not budging.

Do you go to see them live?
It sounds like if you do, then you are just wasting your money
to hear the watered down live versions of the songs.
I am not trying to start anything here, it is just that I do not understand.

I've never seen them live but I am dying to do so. Maybe that's why. I also still consider myself a newbie when it comes to being a hip and I regret opening my mouth about LBU now.

Don't regret your opinion of LBU. Everyone has different tastes musically, that's a given. I like it, but it's not my all time favorite. I guess if I had to choose just two though, I would have to go with RA and FC. Of course that's my mood today. By tomorrow it will have changed.

I just don't feel like I measure up to the hip faness in this forum sometimes. BTW, can't wait for an Albany announcement!

I know how ya feel. I can't seem to keep up with the hardcore stuff either. That's why I usually post on the Non-Hip discussion threads. I have all the albums, but I'm lagging seriously behind in boots. Still fun to see everyone elses opinions and thoughts though.

Yeah, there's days I don't feel like I even deserve to be here or even be running my site.

Chin up! All Hip fans should feel they have a right to be here.
As for your site, be proud of it. I wouldn't even know where to begin when it comes to maintaing a site, so I'm in awe of anyone who can.
The Hip are like anything in life. It's a learning process. The more you read about them and listen to them, the more you know. You'll grow more comfortable as time goes by.

I don't consider myself a newbie to Hip-ology but there are certainly things I'm still finding out. They were talking about Bruce Dickinson on another thread and I didn't know who the hell he was so I asked and people answered. Simple as that. People can tell I don't have a lot of boots from the lyrics on my site but as I get my hands on more I'll transcribe them. I don't think anybody doesn't deserve to be a Hip fan. There's no secret handshake but we should make one up. Wouldn't it be cool to have a clubhouse to hang out in where we all just came and talked about the Hip?... oh, wait a minute...

They're called concerts lol
Actually I think we should have regional Hip Base meet ups. That would be cool.

uh, I was talking about the hipbase ... being the clubhouse.... get it?
