I probably should be familiar with that but...what is B&P ?
Sorry 'bout that.

B&P = Blanks & Postage

http://www.mcnichol.com/bnp/

Basically you send a package containing blank CDs and a self addressed, stamped envelope to a willing fan who burns the show onto the CDs for you, and sends them back to you in the enelope you provided.

Hey thats really cool!

There is definitely a big similarity between Cemetary Sideroad and She's Got What it Takes.

If the freeloading downloaders can't respect the wishes of the people who post the material, perhaps we should just stop posting the material.
Now... let's get back to the original discussion of the content on the tape: The alternate NOIS lyrics were performed in a concert or two; I remember hearing them, and discussing it here. I'm off to test the search engine!

Hey, the world wouldn't end if that were to happen. I've downloaded a few things from hipfans and have been happy with the shows but if that comment was meant to depress me in any way, it isn't working. I was asking questions about the distribution of files because I sincerely wanted to know the reasons for certain things. I'm not gonna apologize for asking a few questions.

I'm not suggesting that you stop asking questions; but you are not satisfied with the answers people have provided. That's my issue.

And the freeloading downloaders comment was referring to the fact that you, and any one else who is interested, doesn't have to do anything other than connect to the site, for free, to get the shows in the format we post them. Once you get them, do with them as you please - but keep it to yourself. If someone else wants a copy, send them to the site - it might pique their interest and gain us a new community member.

I am satisfied with most of the answers Corby gave me.

I realize this and appreciate the efforts of you and all the tapers. I also realize that you do have the power to just shut down the site altogether and that would be fine with me because it's your site and you can do what you want with it. My initial posts in this thread were spurned on by what I considered to be an innocent poster who just asked if he could get mp3 files instead of flac. I didn't think it was that big of a deal. I guess I was wrong. I'm not gonna press the issue anymore though.

Carry on with the thread issue. Big Grin

That was one the first things that jumped out at me. Upon about 4 listens now, there are things I hear that I know ended up on other tunes. They just aren't as obvious.

- thesellout - 04-17-2007

god, you leave for one freaking week and this happens Big Grin

i love to hear how these things evolve

EDIT again - does anyone hear a similarity (distant, but i think its there) between The Wherewithal and the Hailstone Hands? i might just be crazy

and, hey! its the high school days rant in song form! good times.

That's rather arrogant rocketsan22...

I stand by what I say...sorry dude.

Okay, just transferred my flac's to wav (very simple process  ) and had a listen. Very cool! Its neat to have a flashback like this to see how some of the songs came about. Thanks again for making this available.

By the way, does anyone know if anyone (MAv maybe?) has mentioned this tape to the guys to see what they think about a tape like this "going public"?

What rant are you referring to? I knew it sounded kinda familiar, but couldn't place it.

Cheers,

Pat

it's the one from the 1998 Something on special on much (search for it on hipmuseum).

Aware... in a good way, or a bad way?

Third thing: i have a theory about these demos: could they have been outtakes from the EP sessions? Because that might explain the discrepency of having no EP songs, but having older and newer ones - and the fact that the source is like the EP producer's son or something. Furthermore, the way the voices are mic'd makes me think of the EP, though the final production was a little muddier
