Actually I have one server that is 12 x 500GB drives internal in a RAID-5 configuration which means 5TBs of real usage storage.

Server two that I'm just building has 14 x 200GB drives in a RAID-5 configuration. This server will give me 2.4Tbs of storage.

I then have probably another 20 hard drives around which would be another 2Tbs.

I am pretty much maxed out and need a lot more storage. Damn High Definition footage.

That's an impressive set up, Mark. I guess as well, what with having to torrent everything, you can't even delete the completed shows. :?

Hm. I downloaded the two shows that I attended in no time flat, then last night I queued up a few rare songs from other gigs to fill out my CDs, but they're coming through in BYTES per second for some reason. Is it harder for BT programs to handle such spread out files? Perhaps it is, since there would be less consistent sources to draw from. Or something. My upload speed is stull 40+k/s, but the downloading is just dismal. Suggestions?

I am definitely no expert but I think you are close in your thinking as to the why. With a torrent this large everyone is at different points in the download process. When you d/l the entire torrent you have everyone that has anything to get it from. When you filter it down to specific songs etc you lower the pool to only those that have all or parts of those tracks downloaded.

Gonna spend weeks seeding it now to get my ratio back up :-)

A bitTorrent ratio is the amount of data uploaded to the amount downloaded. If I download a 1000 megabyte show, and upload 500 megabytes of it, I will have a ratio of 0.5 (500/1000).

The tracker has a minimum share ratio of 0.5, meaning if you want to continue using it, you have to upload at least half of what you download. It keeps the community going, and ensures that people aren't only downloading shows then stopping (leeching), leaving a few to constantly upload for everybody else.

OK thanks. Are my show open to anyone or do I have to put them out there? So since I DL this torrent with all these shows, as long as my Azureus is open then anyone can DL from me? Make sense?

That sounds about right. BitTorrent was built to allow you to start uploading shortly after you begin to download.

As long as you keep Azureus running (with the original torrent files on your hard-drive), you'll keep uploading (as long as other people connect to you.)

I good target for everybody should be to upload the same amount as you download, for a share ratio of 1.00.

Well i must say,this is some amazing stuff! i installed utorrent last night and by this morning i had this beautiful collection as well as the Utrecht, Netherlands DVD and i am completely blown away! i have been a hip fan since 90 and today watching my early x-mas present has been one of the most fulfilling moments as a fan.thank you so much guys! unf%*kingbelievable!
