I agree with others on fireworks. Gets played way to much. Good time to jet off and get a Beer or washroom break.
Although I'm sick of NOIS, I wouldn't retire it completely. Maybe just give it a rest once in a while. Instead of playing it every show like they do now, maybe cut it back a bit and pull it out every 4th or 5th show.

I'd say NOIS, but it's probably more of me being sick of it than me hating the song.
I agree that Fireworks and Giftshop are pretty boring live. Other than that I'd say Bobcaygeon. Most people love this song but I've never really been into it.

For me, the only (non-EP) Hip songs that I'm wont to skip now and then are Apartment Song and The Rules. I know the latter is a favorite of many people around here, but it just feels like a dirge to me.

I agree that NOIS just doesn't get me going live like it used to... but I'm waiting for the day when I'm not as into it as I should be and then not just a rant, but a new full out monologue comes through 'n the excitement returns.

Gift Shop is a great choice---it's a bore. And that includes the recorded version.
'Use It Up.' Ugh, I hate that tune, it nearly sinks IVL for me.
Never cared much for 'Courage' or 'Lionized' either. Bores, bores. But my beef with 'Courage' is that the recorded version just sounds weak---it works much better live.
The fun of NOIS at this point is seeing whether the band can somehow manage to keep itself interested in the song. Looks like a losing battle, although when I saw them do it at Richards on Richards, Downie's strings exploded and there was some fun in watching him close down the tune with a useless guitar

You are right, if they played it every 4 or 5 shows I would not be so sick of the song.

i'll stand up and say --i don't like courage--in any other universe this song would'nt have been a hit -- i'd almost bet it's popularity has something to do with the timing of it's original release in canada back in the day.... I call it the "wrapped around your finger" phenomenon-----in other words the 1st song released by the police after "every breath you take"---(regardless of what it was) was going to be crammed down the throats of the collective listeners by cowardly radio programmers --who damn near had to play it..then just like anything else,, the public kinda liked it after they were forced to give it a chance.--but to listen to the song now it's like---How was **this** song ever a mainstream hit???--I thought phantom power was a complete let down on first listen..but i was wrong.. i always am. but that the beauty eh?--the hip are meat and potatos rock and roll thank god --they make music the old fashioned way they earn it!!!.

1. Lionized
2. Tiger the Lion
3. Silver Jet
4. Membership
5. Don't Wake Daddy
and the newest song to add to the list is......
6. Summer is Killing Us
i could also do without NOIS because i dont even notice when its not played BUT i always notice the "jackasses" when it is played -- the guy wearing the Leafs jersey and Yelling Go Leafs Go in the middle of July -- Yeah -- You know who you are and PS -- The "real" fans HATE YOU or at least i do -- you're the reason i cringe at going to shows in Canada!!!
