coooool... i think, the clips are way too short
but I agree with whoever said that it sounds like maybe some songs are about to pick up such as Love is a First but the sample only gives some mellow parts
Speed River sounds really cool though!

does anyone else think that the coffee girl clip sounds like an intro to a song that the boys were working on in the 2nd bathhouse video? the one where johnny is playing the drum beat on his own for a bit, then the band quietly joins, and then at the end robby rips this wicked sly solo.
dunno, the drum beat sounds very simmilar but i could be wrong. ijust wondering if anyone noticed the same thing?
it would be very cool if it was cause i thought that tune sounded really cool :thumb:

Yea, I noticed that as well. I think it definitely might be the same tune from the Bathouse vid.

I agree with both thechubb and direwolf74. They would be boring if they didnt change, but some of the new stuff is just boring. I'd like to see them alternate in between the two on the next album, just to keep both genres of fans interested...

All I listened to from this is a small part of the "Honey, Please" sample and I don't need to hear any more. I'm sold, guys. Even if I didn't like it I'd have been sold anyway because I'm gonna get AT LEAST two copies of the album anyway (one from Canada, one from the US), but even if all of the other songs suck, the two and 1/3 that I've heard are amazing enough to tide me over.

Just be glad they're still around, recording new music, and touring.
It's not like they owe any of us anything, it's their band to do whatever they want with, and if that means recording a mellow album, then that's their choice, you don't have to listen to it...if you want to hear "old
-school" hip, listen to their old records, they're pretty damn good. I'm sure the new one will be solid too.

It sounds like The Depression Suite was what they were working on in the first Bathouse clip. I can't wait for that song.

Amen to that. I've waited 2 1/2 years for a new Hip album and I'm not gonna spoil it with 30 second clips! :thumb:

I can't believe the downright polar opposite opinions so far (based on 30 sec clips). I will say with all honesty that I am so geeked about this album after hearing these clips. I was really dissapointed that LIAF was the radio single. Sounds to me like Honey and a couple others would've been much better. I think the album is the result of writing, performing and the willingness to try different things....to Mature. Our beloved Hip has taken us on a ride like no other band could've and personally I am grateful.
I don't believe this is a Bob Rock experiment gone emuck. I think it is the guys finally saying "mandolin? sure? more acoustic insted of les Pauls on everything? sure, lets layer the backing vocals? sure. Gords singing sounds great on this so far. Downie is the heart and soul of the band. I love to put DFN in my premium stereo system in my car and turn the volume up to 10, but I am also very interested to see this band expand and mature.
Power comes in many forms in music. I think this is going to be the most powerful album they've ever done...if not the loudest....
I am so happy they are going in this direction!!!!! :thumb: :thumb:
