Hm. Generally sounds a little more mellow than I'd like, but that is based on some pretty short clips. Coffee Girl sounds like it's going to be funktastically awesome, I hope Depression Suite isn't as overproduced as the sample indicates, and Country Day should be a kickin' closer.

Those samples seem to indicate that the second half of the album is more rocking than the first half...
Speed River, Depression, Coffee Girl, Country Day sound like real gems....
Probably going to post more opinions later.
Of course...it's a 30 second clip...and I'm not sure if you listen to morning moon or love is a first that the 30 seconds does those songs justice, so who knows?

Maybe when they decided to track the album they knew that it was going to be on vinyl so they split it up with a slow A-side and a faster B-side.

Thanks for the link. I'm pretty excited to hear the whole CD now. I really like what I hear from those short clips. I wasn't sure about the feel of Coffee Girl on first listen, but even after a couple spins of that clip it's starting to grow on me. Something sounds a little tonally off to me on Frozen In My Tracks, but the rest has me really looking forward to another great effort.

Again hard to tell from a clip when we heard the Love is a first clip it did not indicate a whole lot about the song but that being said nice beat to Coffee girl and I have always dug Country day the first time I heard it with the clip from the Bathouse. :thumb:

:jump well, I'm excited. These clips sound incredible. The Exact Feeling, Queen of the Furrows, Speed River, Frozen in my Tracks and Country Day all seem like instant classics.
I get a sort of M@W feel to these songs so far.. maybe its fitting that this album will see the return of the "Evening With" shows.

that 6 second clip of queen of the furrows is my new favorite hip song... the country day clip is tied with 3 pistols for third... after morning moon and love is a first were released i didn't know what to expect from the rest of the album. now i couldn't be more excited.

this new stuff is really disappointing. i know these are just clips. But its enough to get an idea of the sound of this record. Am i the only one that thinks this new schmaltzy pop sound is a complete bore? with every new record i hope to hear more of bobby and a little more of the rock n roll sound that this band has the potential of bringing. but, they go in the opposite direction. I would love to see them drop Bob Rock, bring Don Smith back to the studio with them and just put out some raw material instead of this over produced boring sound. There's absolutely no edge to these tunes.
Really, is it just me?

Not sure what overproduced is supposed to mean, but these samples indicate that they are "on to something with this one".

My first impressions are...
1. The lyrics are the most thoughtful I've heard in a long time
2. I like that Gord is singing instead of shouting
3. Where are the background vocals?
4. Honey, Please is going to be incredible
5. I can't wait to hear another 9 minutes of The Depression Suite

Morning Moon is a nice song. Hopefully, the clips arent a true representation of the final product. I was really disappointed with WC, and miss the old guitar sound of Bobby Baker. Some of the production sounds like Motley Crue was in the Bathouse producing this thing with Rock.
