Where are they now?

Your guess is as good as mine.

They broke up after the release of their second disc. They were awesome...

Wilco opened for the Hip as well during the '97 ARA tour. That was my first exposure to Wilco, and I instantly fell in love with them.
Does anyone remember the '97 ARA lineup? This is what I have (not in order):

Wilco
Los Lobos
Change Of Heart
The Mutton Birds
Ron Sexsmith
Van Allen Belt
Ashley MacIsaac
Sheryl Crow

I don't believe I've seen HRDC, the Weakerthans, or By Divine Right mentioned in here yet... I also know that Cracker opened for the hip (NYC, 1996 maybe?), Forever Like Red (2007, London, England)... and there are a few more on the tip of my tongue. In the case of BDR and Cracker, I'd kind of like to know what happened to them.

I don't think I've seen the name of Starling mentioned anywhere.

I believe they were part of one of the New Year's shows, when Danny Michel was in the band.

I remember being blown away by the Mutton Birds...
Sadly they split a few years ago.
Don McGlashan has gone on to produce an amazing album, 'Warm Hand' (arch hill recordings 2006 - I would recommend it to anyone)

Cracker are still around. Their latest album "Greenland" came out in 2006 I believe:

And it looks like they'll be on tour this fall:
