Canadian Tire is kinda like Home Depot crossed with Sears, if that helps.

As for the guy in question, he's this average, late 30s/early 40s looking guy who pitches their brand name tools (the brand being Mastercraft) in their commercials (sometimes appearing with his "wife" and "kid"). But their commercials serve as both advertising and an educational tool as they are designed to teach us the "everyday" uses of their tools. So, once a month we get Canadian Tire Guy pitching some new lame product in an annoying and condescending fashion, and invariably it is something that you might use once but they try to give you the impression that you'd use it everyday. Like a friggin pressure washer for example.

If this guy was your neighbour, you'd look out the window just before you left the house - every single time - just so that you wouldn't get stuck talking to him about some stupid new gadget that you'd never use, let alone want. Either that or you'd punch him in the head so that he knew not to bug you all the time.
