Took me about 3 years to get into Can't Save the Planet. Thompson Girl is the tune that I think is flawed on Phantom Power and have never been able to get into that. Fireworks too.

The reason I like Thompson Girl is because everytime I hear it I think of where they recorded it:
In the kitchen.

I love Fireworks so much. Maybe it's because it says Bobby Orr and I'm from Parry Sound. It's just such a cool happy rocking song.

I agree with Courage too strangely enough. I think they've played it at all five shows i've seen and I just don't love it. My least favourite song probably on Fully. Still it's a wicked song, just i don't love it like everyone else.

One song I've never fully embraced, which most people tend to love is Poets. It's a good song, just never astounded me the way most first singles do.

Well put. Any Hip material I listed or ever trash is only in comparison to other Hip songs. If I say I don't like a Hip song, that means that out of the approximate 10,000 songs that I've heard, most Hip songs are in the top 200. So I don't think it's a shitty song, but compared to other Hip stuff, it's closer to 200 / 10,000.

I will join the side of: Can't think of a song I would skip over if it were playing... Unless I'm trying to get to a specific song but that's just liking one song more than another.

Must confess, as far as I know. I love em all.

Wow. I thought I was the only Hip diehard that really wasn't into Courage or Fireworks. I'll add "Are You Ready" to my list, though it certainly isn't a fan fave.

Ditto that. They have a very strictly-adhered-to policy within the band: it's the "We Don't Write Bad Songs" policy. I Love every Hip song on every album. Some more than others, sure, and certainly some have come to the point of borderline boredom in concert, but I still love the songs. I have a playlist in my iPod of every TTH studio track, and I love to just set that on random and let it go.

I love Planet...but there does seem to be one song per album that I instinctively skip...like A Beautiful Thing (yeah, I said it) Tiger the Lion...and of course the one song off of IBE that I've given so many chances and tried to get on good terms with, but it just wouldn't let me enjoy it. What is this song you ask? To add some suspense I'll draw your attention to the post directly after this one...

With the exception of the stuff on the EP, I love every song these guys have ever recorded. I try and act discerning and often times a song will hit my bad books... but anything with TTH in the title has a home on my playlist.

i concurr!!! also, as much as i love the songs i dont particularly like "weaken" and "abac" live. if they were done in an acoustic style they could regain there luster.

I am sick of NOIS, I dont understand why the crowd goes nuts when they hear it. Its time to retire the song. What makes it worse is, as someone has already mentioned, they dont jam in the middle of it nor does Gord give a rant.

I agree with others on fireworks. Gets played way to much. Good time to jet off and get a Beer or washroom break.
