I haven't read this entire thread, but I just wanted to give you some advice Stephen.
Usually who made the date pays, however, if the other wants to pay, that's fine. I'd make sure that it's even and you're not her sugar daddy.
When I was still dating, which wasn't too long ago, LONG STORY sometimes I'd be taken out and the guy wouldn't have a lot of money and I'd offer to pay for dinner if he paid for the movie or vice versa.
There were many times when the guy asked me out I'd tell them I had no money and I think sometimes that would turn them off if they heard it too much and they thought I was using them. However, if they were a gentleman, they wouldn't expect me to pay all of the time, BUT even a gentleman should let me pay from time to time if I offer.
I hope this all makes sense. paying all of the time can be a sweet thing and it can also look like a sexist pig thing, it's a delicate balance and depends on the woman.

Don't jump all over me but aren't there woman out there who get REALLY OFFENDED if the guy pays all the time? I'm talking about girls who compare it to being a prostitute in that the guy pays and the girl thinks he expects to be compensated other than monetarily. I don't know, I guess you just play it as it comes but I don't see what's wrong with 50-50. Maybe that makes me sound like a pig but whatever.

:thumb: Agreed. A lot of my dates don't have careers, just transient jobs.
And very few of them have graduated high school yet... (not trying to sound arrogant or nothing; I'm only 21)

Funny, since we went to Sugar Mountain afterwards, and she had NO trouble letting me pay for that!
Seriously, the government should look into those crooks: $3 for a chocolate bar?! I'm seriously thinking of starting a Capone style European chocolate ring.

I cant imagine girls making this kind of comparison, why would they degrade themselves like that? It sounds more like something a guy might say or think. Doesn't matter though...if a guy expects to get laid merely because he paid for dinner, he needs to think again.

Yes, there are women like that AND THEY MAKE ME NUTS.
I wanted to add, for Stephen, that if you like to pay all of the time and she takes offense to that, you might want to look at your relationship. If she's the right one, it will all fall in to place.

Why would they degrade themselves? That's a very good question but unfortunately some women are like that. I would never think that but I've heard about it. Yep, if a guy expects to get laid because he paid for dinner then I'd say he's a pretty big loser. He should expect to get laid anyway just for being nice on the date! (just kidding)
