I have had that as a status for packages before, and it stayed on that status for days. Then out of blue, the package showed up, and then there about 4-5 status updates on the tracking that weren't there before appeared, most of them backdated. There is hope.

Re: Vinyl Re-reissues - swm - 07-27-2017

I got the 3 latest and the EP re-issue this afternoon, gave them a decent listen.
The goal was to play them all chronologically in rapid succession, but had to take a break after side 2 of M@W.
M@W was a bit too bright at times, maybe my old ears or/and my gear from playing louder than normal, will give it another chance in a few days.
Mind you I played the CD last night and it sounded brighter than I remember, always thought it was one of their better sounding recordings, despite something being off (maybe the content, one of those cases where good songs don't always make for a great album).
Very happy with PP & IVL (which I used to consider my least favorite), definite improvements over the CDs.
All except IVL were very quiet vinyl, a good cleaning will probably help that one.

Now waiting on Oct.6.....

Thanks for the reviews so far!

Hearing the PP has been so well done is very exciting and as I've always enjoyed M@W, especially Tiger, I'm glad to hear you thought it was opened up. I'm also curious about IVL as that was the first album that I remember thinking that I really noticed the loss of dynamics and hope the vinyl addresses that.

I'm the same. DFN reissue is better than the single album OP, just for the fact it has bottom end. But I think it's not the best sounding original recording -- my favorite album by The Hip, one of my all-time top 5 -- but it's a bit flat/sterile. TATH was a great reissue.

IVL, I don't think you're going to be blown away, but it's an improvement limited by still working off a digital master (which I don't get too hung up on). The most obvious way for me to try and "hear" better dynamics is in the drum sound and detail in rhythm guitar; to my ear that's what gets lost in compression for loudness. There are part in all three releases that made me go back to the CD and re-listen -- obviously they're there, but with a lot less detail. From IVL as an example, Paul's rhythm in Silver Jet has a lot more definition, which adds a bit more edge to the song.

Hoping this was the case today and it would be in the mailbox. No luck.

Anyone else order from Music_Vaultz receive them yet?

Mine arrived today! Unfortunately, I am away for the weekend so they're sitting home waiting for Sunday.

Re: Vinyl Re-reissues - sherpa - 07-28-2017

My M@W sounds amazing. My PP has some kind of distortion/pressing issue on Track 1 of side 3 and 4 - Fireworks and Chagrin Falls - it sounds like scratchy dirt in ones spot for the first half of both songs on every rotation. Also for some reason the pressing is slightly off and my needle doesn't actually return at the end of side 2 or 3 - other than that it sounds great - I'll have to return for another copy though. Actually I'm really impressed with the sound quality on all the reissues overall

Did you give it a good cleaning first? I know it sounds silly for a new record but some of them are pretty filthy.

Re: Vinyl Re-reissues - sherpa - 07-29-2017

was definitely a pressing defect - it was a visible scorch mark on both sides in the same place

Re: Vinyl Re-reissues - bouche03 - 07-30-2017

Got mine yesterday down here in the US! Happy with the shipping taking only a few days! Haven't listened to them all the way through to make sure they are good pressings. Don't like hearing about pressing defects such as those in the post above...

Re: Vinyl Re-reissues - gsmacleod - 07-30-2017

Have spun the first PP LP and it is excellent! I'm very impressed with this and it certainly sounds much better to my ears. Not a huge difference but lots of subtle stuff that adds to the overall feel. Bobcaygeon is the standout for me on this LP and I'm excited to get to the second one this evening.

Such a great experience to put it on, sit down and let the music wash over me. In university I used to sit and listen to an entire cd all the time but until I got into vinyl, rarely took the time beyond just listening to new releases in the car. Listening this morning took me right back to the summer of '98 when I don't think PP left my cd player for the entire summer.

Throwing Off Glass.

Wow.

Re: Vinyl Re-reissues - chancellor - 07-30-2017

All this talk of these vinyls is killing me as I wait.

Wow.

I almost jumped right to IVL - trying to show restraint!

Listened to LP2 of PP last night; continue to be very impressed with the work done by Ludwig. Escape and Emperor have long been favourites of mine from PP and the work of these do not disappoint. Not quite sure what it was (need another few listens) but The Rules really seemed to stand out as benefiting from the remaster.

On to M@W tonight!

Wow.

Yeah, I think of all three LPs this was that track that really stopped me -- way more intimate on vinyl.
