Greasy jungle is definately in my top 5 if not my number 1

This topic made me realize that M@W is my least favorite album. My least favorites songs are Thompson Girl (can't believe this was only mentioned once), Tiger the Lion, Sharks, Wild Mountain Honey & As I Wind down the Pines. Althought I do like some songs of this album that were mentioned like Puttin Down and Toronto #4. And I'm loving IBE but I could do without Meanstreak and Heart of the Melt.

I just think it's wonderful (though somewhat jarring at first) to see the diversity of opinion. Some of my faves (Tiger, Bastard, Membership) are on others' hate lists; some of my problem bears (Silver Jet most especially, but also some so-so ones for me like Fireworks) are on others' fave lists.
Thinking about this has made me think that I get less of some albums (PP) than I thought I did. Funny. The world of being a fan of one of the richest bands in the world.

Problem Bear Wrote:So I keep having this recurring nightmare. I'm showing my girlfriend the Hip for the first time. I pay $110 for two tickets, travel for eight hours to see the show, and the setlist that night is:
Springtime in Vienna
All Tore Up
On the Verge
Lionized
Daredevil
Membership
Sharks
Wild Mountain Honey
The Rules
Butts Wigglin'
Let's Stay Engaged
Encore:
Werewolf
Surf Club
Evelyn
Then I wake up screaming.
It's a testament to the Hip (and to subjectivity) that, for some of you, this would no doubt be a spectacular night. I'll look for the Best Songs thread tomorrow and post my dream setlist.
Cheers,
John
wait a sec.. thats my dream setlist! seriously.. on the verge omg i would piss my pants!

1.Silver Jet
2.Summer is Killing us
3.Bastard
4.Sharks
5.Thugs
A Beautiful Thing is lyrically one of my favorite songs. The "3 o'clock in the morning" line gets me everytime! I can't believe this song is taking the beating in this thread like it is...lol.
I have to defend Flamenco also. I love the mood and the lyrics. IMO it displays the Hip at the top of their game. Most of Henhouse is so different than the rest of the studio catalog that some of us dislike it...but I enjoy the creativity! Long live Butts and Cocconut!

hock: I can't believe the number of people that dislike Summer Is Killing Us!
I'll admit that this one wasn't my fav when I first bought the cd, but with every listen since, it grew on me, and now it's one of my top 3 on the album. This song has such an upbeat feel to it I find, it gets me excited whenever I hear it. It sounds much better live, the studio version sounds a little akward now and then. But still, this song rocks! "It's just sing, sing, sing all day!"

I, too, whole-heartedly concur! Great tune! Nothing off of IBE is near my "do not like" list.
And as for people disliking Tiger the Lion... I dont know what to tell you, it is pure genius!

Summer is Killing Us is routinely getting the "skip" treatment on the ole CD player.
"Are You Ready": ready, are you ready to ... skip.
[cover your heads; watch for lightning bolts] "it's been a looooong, loonnnnggggg, time" ... skip.
"legs scream at bikes, bikes scream at ... NEXT!"
"like anyone I knew a Skip"
