All dcaley's recordings of the Phoenix shows have been posted at http://bt.hipfans.com

I was goin to make a thread close to this so I'll just ask it here. Will the Hip do anything like Pearl Jam is doing now? Where they release every show they play a couple of days after they play it on their website. For $10 you can get any show off the tour. Really good idea I think. I would assume they record the shows anyway. I respect PJ for doing that
Just to give you an idea what Im talking about. Go here and click "Launch the Application". You DONT need an account. Im not promoting PJ Im just asking if the Hip would ever do this

That's a topic that certainly has been mulled over here on the Base. PJ has that down pat and it would be a great thing to do. But to be honest, we have some great fans with a lot of expertise in recording and they do one heck of a job. Most of the shows these days are available for free from the Tracker...

Do a search for "Bit Torrents" just about anywhere and it will tell you how to do this. Or read the FAQ's on the Tracker...

It is a terrific idea, and the closest they got was the 3 shows from 2004 released on livedownloads.com. I'm guessing with the iTunes - Live 10 releases, we won't be seeing more complete shows, but who knows...if Fiddler's Green was played on the weekend, anything is possible!

Also note the minimum ratio. Many people starting off with bitTorrent don't realize there may be a minimum ratio (0.50 for the hipTracker) for private tracker sites, and when they don't share back to the community, they wonder why their account has been banned.
Also, don't worry about getting a virus from the shows posted. The chances of getting something malicious is next to nil.

so since I dont have shows to add I would be able to get one or two. But then out of respect I should re upload them to share? Is that how it works?

before they bring in official bootlegs, i would prefer a 'tapers ticket' so we can stand beside the board at an arena show and make sure our gear isnt stolen while making a good recording.

Pretty much. If you download a couple of shows, and then seed back as much as you can, then you shouldn't have a problem.

OK thanks Zenith, not sure what seed means but Im sure it just means give back. Makes sense. I use a work computer so Im a little nervous about DL'ing software. Because then I would need software to convert FLAC to MP3 for my Ipod
