This one piece of news is making me very close to buying a plane ticket to Montreal to see the second show there. VERRRRRY close (the large price tag of the flight is holding me back...)

It has been recorded!

Am I the only one that thinks that this overshadows the release of the new album? This may just be the initial shock... but right now, this is really overwhelming.
does anyone think that maybe it was played for a special occasion (possibly the death of child or something sad like that...)...
i still can't believe it was played!
personally though, i'd be far more excited to here Highway Girl!

Of course it doesn't overshadow the release of the new record. From what some where saying, not many really knew the significance last night. So for us Hip Junkies, the world is ending. For the rest of the patrons that are attending these shows, it's just another song in the setlist.
....and Markslog's 200th show is coming up in the West Coast. I wonder if it was last night and the band played it on purpose? Kinda like: "you have been to 200 shows but have you heard us play this....."

It's only a big deal to the hard core, multiple concerts per tour fan who frequents a place like this. To everyone else, it's just a great song from their oeuvre...
Show 200 is in Vancouver.
i dunno, i think a lot of people know it's never been played...and have heard about the history of the song....maybe not.

I agree. I think that there are probably a fair few fair-weather fans at these shows who probably thought nothing of it.
I have to admit, I wasn't aware of the significance until today.
