I hope it's the Weakerthans. It would be nice to see them indoors in a seated environment where they don't have drunken morons booing or throwing stuff at them.

U2 or The Rolling Stones I think.
Seriously, the Weakerthans would be cool or even Joel Plaskett again because he was pretty darn good. I have a sneaky suspicion it'll be The Spades.

I think it was the Watchmen who opened for the Hip in Sarnia of '02, and they would be awesome to hear as an opener.

They broke up, but maybe Doctor will be available if you like his voice.

They would be a great opener, too bad they broke up 2 years ago.
Ooops!
Guess we posted at the same time Tiger.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. My brother told me that a couple years ago and I wanted to hear some of Doctor's songs and it totally slipped my mind. I still havent gotten around to it, is it the same kind of sound as the Watchmen?

I hope it's not the weakerthans. I find them really boring. Plus it has been done to death - time to have a band other than them.

I was at a College opening party on friday (MacEwan College, Edmonton), and the Trews were playing. Between songs they said that in the next few months they'll be travelling the country opening for a band that they would not name...said it would be a surprise. Could be the Hip...but it could be anybody I guess.

Sam Roberts, maybe?

The Trews will be on the road with The Stills and Sam Roberts is in the States with Ben Kweller, so I don't think it would be either of them.

The Rheostatics? Maybe their last hurrah before their "final" show at Massey Hall?
I doubt they'd be an opener. But I can still hope can't I?

Not quite the same, more up-tempo than the watchmen, but its a pretty good album. I caught them live here last year, they put on a good show.

Couldn't agree more, they were really boring and their lyrics are way too whiny
