They broke up, but maybe Doctor will be available if you like his voice.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. My brother told me that a couple years ago and I wanted to hear some of Doctor's songs and it totally slipped my mind. I still havent gotten around to it, is it the same kind of sound as the Watchmen?

Not quite the same, more up-tempo than the watchmen, but its a pretty good album. I caught them live here last year, they put on a good show.

Ill have to check out that album. It's weird though that I havent heard any of it on the radio. Did the album bomb (sales-wise) or does it just not get good air play? or perhaps i have heard it but did not realize it was them...
how about no opening band?

I couldn't say how many albums they sold, but it probably wasn't alot. I just checked and the bands website is dead and gone, I get the sense they are no more.

Come on Watchmen re-unite! Tizzard left Thornley so everyone is freed up I think.

I like this idea the best, it was on my tour wishlist actually. With the amount of songs they have to choose from, why not? Its always been great of them to bring up and coming artists on tour with them to get them some exposure, they deserve big kudos for that. But sometimes you just want them all to yourself, give them a chance to dip into the catalouge a little deeper. Its a nice thought anyways, maybe sometime in the future we'll be treated to another "evening with" type tour.

After all we deserve it.. Big Grin

I doubt they'd be an opener. But I can still hope can't I?

The Reostatics opened for the Hip several years back on a cross country tour. I think the Rheos would set the mode nicely for the forthcoming tour!
an evening with 2006/2007 version

or sam roberts opening

the first time i saw the hip they were doing a format of 2 sets + an encore
the show lasted almost 3 hours and got me hooked on the band

if they ever went back to this format...that would just be awesome
I would like to see The Constantines open. Their performance at the Sasquatch Festival last spring was possibly the highlight of the weekend....besides The Hip's performance of course.
I know it would never happen, but the Hip, with opening act... Jack Johnson.
I'd like to see Buck 65 again.

But realistically, an "evening with" tour again would be awesome.

I think Buck 65 opening for the hip would be more realistic than them doing another evening with tour. I'd like to see Hawksley Workman open for the hip, he was really good in Stratford.
i really liked the sadies @ fort york
they just released a double live disc and are on tour until november 1st...
but it would be sweet to see these guys again

hawksley impressed me as well
I will put a vote in for the Spades
I would love to see In-Flight Safety open for them. The lads from Halifax would be a great opener.

CW
Hawksly would be an insane opener.....

Anyone else catch him at Massey this year? oh lord was that good...
