Does anyone know what the two designs/symbols/icons painted on the field of play along each sideline between the 45 yardlines are, or what they represent?
It is the stadium's logo. It is a picture of the design of the stadium when you look out towards one end zone. There is an arching overpass bridge and a 12 story lighthouse.

by the way.i'm a little angry right now
What a brutal call that was...ruined my proline ticket! If you don't have the confidence in your o-line to get you one inch on a QB sneak something's wrong, especially considering how well they were running the ball up to that point. As soon as they sent the kicking team on the field I knew the Rams would come back. Here's hoping St. Nick brings Nolan a pair of balls for Xmas cause he could sure use them.

Ah. Figured it might be that, but the logo on the Gillette Stadium website looked different enough that I convinced myself that it wasn't the same thing.
Thanks!
that was a nasty break on Seau hey? how the guy managed to be smiling walking off the field is beyond me

at one point the lighthouse at Gillette was supposed to be brighter than the light on the Luxor pyramid in Vegas. I don;t know what happened, but I swear that is what i remember...I grew up right near there...and I'm a Dolphins fan...the irony...
(let's not argue the definition of irony again)

He's Samoan. They feel no pain. Ever watch boxer David Tua take punch after punch after punch without going down? Or Mark Hunt in Pride? They're tough SOB's.
Oh mr. freeney. *sigh
oh mr. manning. *sigh
oh mr. bironas................UGH.
The NFC sucks. A 6-6 record in the NFC gets you in the heat of a playoff race. It's pretty sad.

  ya but I'm not complaining, GO EAGLES!!!!!!
NFC is so lame...
i bet the Dolphins, Bills, Steelers, Titans...hell maybe even the Texans, would all be in contention for a playoff spot if they were in the NFC...
and it's not just this year...this has been going on for years now it seems.

No kidding.
There could be an AFC team that goes 10-6 and gets shut out of the playoffs.
Denver, Kansas City, Cincinnati, NYJ, and Jacksonville are all currently 7-5, and its
possible that 3 of them could win 3 of their last 4 games. Believe it or not, the J-E-T-S, JETS, JETS, JETS! look to have the easiest road to a wildcard. Jacksonville looks to have the toughest row to hoe.
Games that loom large down the stretch are Cincinnati @ Denver and Kansas City @ Jacksonville, though I fear both those teams will fall by the wayside due to the toughness of remaining schedules and losing tiebreakers. My guess is that the Jets get one wildcard, and the other will be decided by that Broncos / Bengals game in Mile High....

Maimi and Buffalo aren't gonna be a walk in the park for the Jets, both teams need to win to have even a slim hope of postseason...and even if they didn't have to win, they're bitter division rivals, and would love nothing more than to at least stop another team from their division from entering the playoffs, if they themselves can't make it...

Don't mention the word "playoffs" and "Bills" or "Dolphins" in the same sentence.

They're both toast.
Having said that, I think NY loses at least one of those games to the Bills or Dolphins.
Rex Grossman, what happened?

hock:
Would Eli Manning be a starting QB in the NFL is his last name was different?
Has there ever been a WR, who is considered the best the in NFL, who drops as many passes as TO does?
Does Jay Cutler, a 1st year rookie, really give the Broncos the best shot at winning right now?
Could the Buffalo Bills defensive line stop me if I was a running back?
Is there anyone else who is even close to L Tomlinson as far as the MVP race goes this season?
