!st time w/a team here.
Wait for the regular season to open. It starts Oct 5th. As you guys start playing games, they start accumulating points, much like any other sports pool. You are ranked in the points categories against the other 11 guys in the pool. It continues like this for the entire season.
If you find you have guys that aren't producing, you trade them with another manager or you drop them and pick up someone else from the Waiver list.
You'll get the hang of it.

Is there a certain tuime to drop and pick up? And I think there's no limits on drop pick?

Nope...you can start today. If you do drop one for someone else, you will see once you have done that at the top of your team page the "pending transactions." There is typically a 24 hour wait before the transaction goes through. That is because if there is someone else that wants the same player and they have a lower "waiver ranking" than you, they get first priority. If not, then the transaction will go through.
...and no, there is no limit to the amount of trades you can do.

What's the deal w/the max games:
Maximums Per Position
Note:
Each spot on your roster (not each player) allows for a maximum number of games played. (168 ~ 82 +/- 2 per each player)
The table above shows you how many of each you have used, how many you have remaining, your projected pace and the maximum allowed.
Once you exceed the maximum, you will no longer accumulate stats for the position.
Is this if a team pick up a player in a trade down the line? If he's reached his max you lose points for playing him. I guess it's self explanitory but just checking. The other leauge I join too has a goalie max which i totaly don't get:
Goaltender Appearances
Total for Week 1
0 of 4 Note:
Each week, your goaltenders must reach the minimum of 4 appearances. If you fail to reach this mark, you will lose all of your goaltending games for that week.
This section will show you an updated total each morning. The numbers will appear red until you have reached the requirement.
Lost on that one. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey Mark,
I can't really comment on your goaltender situation however it looks like you must have at least 4 games in per week for all your goalies. In other terms, if you have 3 goalies on your team, you must have a cumulative total of 4 appearances in the games for that week in order to achieve any points they may get you. So if you have 3 goalies and two are hurt, that third goalie better start in 4 games each week or you will lose all the points scored by your goalies.
For our league, You have a certain amount of games for each position. Because you have some people on the bench, you an accumulate a high number of games pretty quickly. To keep things in check, yahoo has set a total games per position so that if your team is lucky enough to not have any injuries throughout the year, then you don't gain any points over the person that has had multiple injuries thus doesn't have as many games played as your team.
Somehow I think I probably confused you even more than you were before... :?

Will it run into a spot where you run out of games, or rather has anyone run out of games? I guess I'll get the hang of it once the season starts next week. The goalie thing is still fuzzy but I'll see how it goes. Only joined the other leauge cuz a friend kept buging me and I did this one so..... ugh.

Yeah, if you play all your guys at the start of the season, you can run into a scenario where there are still games remaining in the season but you have no games left in your spots. That means, that if your players accumulate points, you don't get them.
I ran into this scenario last season. Luckily enough, I had built up such a lead that even though I couldn't get anymore points, no one could catch me! :jump :jump

So, a week or 2 in my team goes up n down but where are the stats for the players. The screen shows a spot for them but nothing there. Is it just me or do I have to purchase that stat tracker thing. I Don't wan't to "purchase" stats.

When your team lineup page is up, click on "2006-2007 Season" at the top and all your players stats will show.
