If their going to charge a $11:50 for a concert they should at least send a cd if it was 15 bucks im sure more people would buy all of them instead of maybe a few - all in all i think its a great idea thou- Soundboard quality thats just amazing and im sure the hip will do it too i cant see how they couldnt - The video for pascals submarine is coming upwithin the next 15 mins on muchmoremusic its 1106am right now est time
For my $11.50, right now I'd settle for the mp3 downloads...:?

Summiteer, I also used Netscape to place my order/access the download page...hopefully, that wasn't the problem... Confusedcratch:

Has anyone out there SUCCESSFULLY downloaded the entire Lee's show yet???

M.
I for one like the idea of what Gord is doing for his solo tour and can only hope they are using this as a testbed for the next Hip live tour. I REALLY hope the Hip follow suit. I'd pay the money for soundboard bootlegs but the quality needs to be at least 192KBPS, because 128 sucks. But then again we are getting picky considering some of the Hip bootlegs we listen to are muffled some or have heavy bass. What's a little warpling? </anal>

The other thing I am wondering about, is if you purchase the Gord bootlegs, is there any copyright to their distribution? Meaning if someone buys it can they share it with everyone? If not, then maybe an organized group of fans could all take turns buying a bootleg and sharing it with others in the group via ftp. That is only if there isn't anything illegal about it.

Laters,
High.
Ok, so I finally heard back from the good folks at Maplemusic...here's the reply to the email I sent:

Hi Mike,

Your browser probably refused the cookie that needed to be set for you to access the downloads.

Here is a link where you can access them

(link cropped)

This is a one-time link. Once you access this page, please make sure you download all of the songs before you leave the page or refresh the browser. Once the page has been accessed, it will not be available again.

Thank you.

Well, it may not be perfect, but I'm now in possession of the entire Lee's Palace gig. And I must say, despite all the talk of 192+, SHNs, etc...it was well worth the wait!

For all those audiophiles out there, it's not as "crisp" or "clean" as you might expect, but it's still a solid "A"...for a boot.

Awesome version of Chancellor...high tempo version of Pascal's...usual level of Gord banter...c'mon folks...whaddayawant????

Enjoy!

I only had a problem downloading the first song, from the Lee's show. All of the others, including the Dundas show, went off without a hitch. I just saw an email responce from Maplemusic, and that file has been repaired, so everything should be good to go.

I haven't had a chance to listen yet, so I won't comment on quality, but I think its a great idea. Sure, the option of downloading shn's would be even better, but this is still good.

High, there isn't any type of copyright protection on the files, but it would be illegal to freely distribute them. I know how easy it is to download music these days, but I personally wouldn't want to do that to Gord. Still, I'm sure these files will get out there pretty quickly!
$10 for a memory is well worth it for me no matter the format, and it is soundboard quality....no complaints. Hope this hip do this as well, but maybe a la pearl jam style.
I only just bought Gord's album today. Where do I get the web address to download these shows??
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.maplemusic.com/dept.asp?dept_id=374">http://www.maplemusic.com/dept.asp?dept_id=374</a><!-- m --> - think their about a $11:30 after taxes
Thanks Ryan, seems like I need an eye exam!! Confusedhock: :thumb:

Guess I'll give the cd a few spins before I go after these shows.
I just downloaded both the Dundas Square and Lee's Palace shows.

Am I the only one who noticed that Yer Possessed was not available for download for the Lee's Palace show?!?! There were 18 songs played and only 17 for download.

I hope it gets released for download as it was a wicked version that night.

Jamie
and was it worth the $11.30 per show, jamie?
hey Highlander, thats a great idea to do if it is legal, i would definitely get involved to spread the music but it will only work if many people were prepared to do this. Well what does everyone else think?
I think that is why the pearl jam way works. People trade the unmastered mp3's, but if you buy the show you get a mastered cd in the mail. Who wouldnt want pay for a cd of a show they have been to?

you can EASILY download the shn's that are ripped from the cd's.
my thoughts on this are that if they want $10 for a show, it should be SHN and nothing else. mp3's, especially those ripped at 128kbps, stink. sure, the file size is nice, but the sound is not good.

shn's or FLAC are definately the way to go. As an active member in the dave matthews band community, i have cone to realize that mp3's are the devil and shn is the only way to fly.
