Anyone got the specs on this new album due out? Like when, producer, where it was cut, all that great stuff. I am surprised there isn't much talk about it.........maybe I'm dreaming, is there even a new album on its way?
Thanks y'all :jump
Yes, it's called the "Toe Cheese Ballet" and there are some some pre-releases scheduled in select 7 Elevens across Iowa early next month. I'm pumped.
Oh well, bored at work...sorry.
I have it on good authority that Dan Aykroyd has taken over for gord as frontman.
but, yes, there is an album, not much news though, being produced by Bob Rock, but most of this news has been covered in some existing threads.
Bob Rock ???????
The album will be ruined!!!!!!
What does everyone else think????
(does anyone know a good place to hide from the search police? I might need one,
perhaps down sarcasm alley??)
i wonder if they'll ever play fiddlers green?
Well.............great posts, but are there any music fans out there that could shed some light on the new album? I am hoping this thread won't get drowned out by some regular "billy crystals"!!!!!
I think my brother guessed best when he said that it'll sound like 12 versions of Ahead by a Century.

Quote:I'm afraid to say the hip "jumped the shark" with the album Music @ work. I have always been a huge hip fan but since that album, their writing, recording and performing have been weak in comparison to projects like day for night, or the trouble at the henhouse tour. It has taken me a long time to get over the denial, but the truth is that great bands seem to have a solid lifetime of 10 years, after these years bands seem to tread water before drowning with age. I would like to see Gordy D fully and completely focus on his solo career and poetry. It seems as a unit they are floundering
Nice find Mountain Hip: http://hipbase.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1638 but as that was a long time ago, maybe jeromio has changed his mind... Either way his questions were answered.
I was trying to be naughty and nice all at the same time,
3 years is a long time.
It really is going to be called "Toe Cheese Ballet"...no, really.
wow buddy......hang out here much??? do you count how many times I shit in a day too? Sorry you were too busy accounting for peoples crap while a certain hit TV show "the simpsons" climbed the ranks, which is where my comment about "billy Crystal" came from, pretty fitting if you ask me amongst everyone elses venture down "sarcasm alley"....which is a funny quote by the way, I am stealing that!
Oh and by the way, the hip have jumped the shark, its just that no band in my era has ever rode a shark that big, making the music they put now still incredible. They are still "riding the wake" if you may. And one more thing, did I really insult you by craving info about a long awaited new album? You speak as though this is your "territorial piss post", or you must be an only child, grow some skin on dem bones....
At home, listening to old hip CDs.
Up to here. The Tragically Hip EP
and the new stuff lay unused below.
Hipbase didn't give attention, oh,
to the fact that jeromio didn't care for the new stuff.
King Jeromio the wicked, oh, loved the nineties.

Clearly I remember pickin' on the boy,
said he'd never listen to the new hip.
Ooo, but we unleashed a lion.
Gnashed his teeth and called Mountainhip a geek,
how could we forget?
And none of us were surprised when he left.
My mouth dropped wide open
like the day, oh, like the day I heard:
Jeromio didn't give affection to In Violet Light,
and Phantom Power was something that Jeromio wouldn't listen to.
King jeremio the wicked, oh...

Try to forget this thread...try to forget this post...
Try to erase this...try to erase this...
from the hipbase...

The preceding post was completely tongue-in-cheek. You're totally allowed your opinion Jeromio. It's cool.
