A waitress here in Thunder Bay won a car. Her employers said that if she wears her work uniform for the photo op, they'll pay her insurance for a year.
I'm 1 for 6, my girlfriend is like 2 for 11. One of my best friends was 0 for 25 when I talked to him Thursday, so hopefully he's pulled up on that since then.
Cheers,
Pat

That's just silly, imo since nobody can conclusively claim the right to the prize, the company should just sell the car and donate the money to a national charity or something.

There was a lawyer on the radio here in St. Catharines the other day talking about this case. Apparently, there is already some kind of precedent. The little girl who found the cup in the garbage is the rightful owner, he says, according to this precedent. The woman relinquished ownership when she threw it out, and asking another little girl for help rolling up the rim does not imply shared ownership.
We'll see how all of this pans out.

Now, now, now - you are asking people to exhibit common sense, and let's face it, if people exhibited common sense on a regular basis then there would be no need for lawyers.

The only way this guy has a right to the cup is if it was still in the garbage in his house. Since it was thrown in a public garbage can, in a public place he relinquished his rights to the cup and any benefits to its ownership. There is a technical term for "finders keepers" Possession latin something, latin something. I am just too lazy to look it up, the law books are at my parents place.
Hindsight is 20/20 eh. Maybe next time the guy won't throw the cup out. I hope he gets a fat legal bill for this whole thing.
I agree with Violet Heron. Sell the car and donate the proceeds to the childrens wish foundation or something or put it towards the girls education.
