Geez, you all have me beat this year. Only went to 1 show, Daniel Lanois at the Wintergarden Theatre, Toronto. Gord Downie showed up to watch the show & sang with Lanois on "The Messenger". Absolutely brilliant.
I'm hoping for a better run in '06. :thumb:
I'll be seeing Thornley tonight, first and only concert of the year. Sad..Sad year.

What? Where is Thornley playing tonight? I haven't seen anything on their website for shows in ages.

I'm sorry for not replying last night incase you could have made it. They played St.Kitts. Awsome show! His voice is dead on! The setlist was well mixed, lots of big wreck tunes right from the get go. Burst into Bloody Sunday half way through 'Come again'. Great show.

You lucky bastard! No problem I wouldn't have been able to make it anyway. They did Bloody Sunday eh, I heard they've been doing Zep's Immigrant Song, I'd love to get a boot or file of that. Its great that Ian's still rocking the BW songs, they are too good to be left on the shelf. I still think of Thornely as a continuation of BW and I love both, so its really a win-win. Did they play anything that could be "new material" for an upcoming album by chance? I heard they are working on a new album.
i know i saw others, but they don't matter because i saw the greatest show, Robert Plant at the orpheum in vancouver...opened with a tripped out No Quarter, threw in some new tunes. rocked tons of zeppelin (black dog, thank you, goin to cali, whole lotta love just to name a few)....and he sounded better than ever....

As a matter of fact they did. Ian goes "Do you guys mind if we try a few new songs? I know fans hate it when new stuff comes out they're all like "what the hell is this? but if it's cool with you guys, check out this one"
And they were both great!

I just came back from seeing Clutch, and I'd have to say that it was the best live concert I've ever seen. They were at a small club too, so we got right up to the stage no problem. One of the Calgary Flames stood next to us, and my brother got to meet him.

Lovely pic, got that 'Yes, I am cute, now what can a mess with?' look aced :-)
My youngest is 10 months now & judging by the cds off the rack & down the stairs (uncontrolled plummet) he isn't a fan of Pearl Jam, Zappa, Yes or anything else running from P to Z...
D
(hang on, he can only reach to P!! He might like Pearl Jam!!!)
Have some I forgot...
Dark Star Orchestra...Portland ME...they brought out the WORLD SERIES TROPHY! Jammin out of a song...the drummer looks offstage and then the music goes down...OUT COMES THE TROPHY!...10 minute standing ovation.
Van Morrison...The Orpheum, Boston, MA...loved it...first time ever to see Van The Man...he play sax as good (if not better) than he sings.
And a New One:
Phil Lesh and Friends, Atlantic City, New Jersey
December 9th and 10th...all I have to say is: Gimme Shelter...
