I know there's already a bunch of different PJ threads in here but I thought I'd start one to talk about the tour in general, throw some reviews of the shows you catch in here and whatever instead of a different thread for each show, since this is afterall, a hip message board.

Anyway, tonight's the night. Pearl Jam are coming to play the dome for the first time ever and I've got myself a ticket. A 10C ticket actually, and I couldn't be more excited. This show is looking to be fantastic! I've only seen them once before on a big road trip out to Vancouver with a few friends. Now they're playing right here in my backyard and all my friends will be there with me. Plus we've got the day off tomorrow to boot!!

The setlists for the first few shows on the tour are looking sweet and I'm ready to go!! Can't wait for the show tonight. And the Supersuckers are opening!! If anyone's going, I'll be there rocking the hipbase T or the black and orange Supersuckers T. Gonna be good times for sure!! :thumb:

Funny, I was gonna start a thread just like this as soon as I got home from the show tonight, but you beat me to it. I'm giddy with excitement. This afternoon I'm stopping by the Dome to pick up my 10club tix. Can't wait to find out where I'm sitting. Hey sherpa, I was wondering roughly where your 10club number is? Mine is is in the 300's, so I definitely won't be sitting in the first few rows, but I'm expecting my seats will still be pretty decent. If by chance we end up near each other, I'll be the short guy with the IVL Hip shirt.

Enjoy the show!!!

Ya, I'm in the 300's as well. Don't much care though as I'll be in the building!! woohoo.

I'll keep an eye out for the IVL shirt. Looks like it's the black T with the orange Supersuckers on it for me as the hipbase is dirty and I don't feel like doing any laundry today. I'll probably be unshaven still as well, as I've been living outta a kayak camping for the last week without a razor and it seems like a lotta work to shave it all off at the moment.

Looks like I'll be getting down to the dome via an old cheesewagon with a bunch of friends around 6:30 to pick up the tickets and get ready to rock.

This is gonna be goooood!! Please, please, please play "In My Tree" Please!!

:jump
i can't decide who i'm more excited to see...U2 or Pearl Jam. I love both, and i've yet to see either of them live. IMO they're both incredible, and are two of the greatest bands ever, period. I guess the true test will be the live shows...
I will be at the Winnipeg show, I try and remember to sport my Hipbase shirt aswell. I think I am in section 320.
Just back from tonight's show. What an incredible night!!! The energy in the 'Dome was absolutely electric. I hadn't seen PJ since 1993, and in 12 years they haven't lost a beat. They're a little older, a little wiser, and a MUCH better band than they were back then, and their amazing show tonight was proof that they're one of the best live acts you could ever hope to see. Eddie's voice was in magnificent shape (damn that guy's got great pipes!), the band was firing on all cylinders, and the crowd was insane! The whole place was on their feet and going crazy for the entire show, especially during that incredibly cool moment when all the house lights came up for the second encore. Here's the setlist courtesy of the PJ forum:

Oceans
Last Exit
Corduroy
Whipping
Hail Hail
Red Mosquito
Do The Evolution
Given To Fly
Even Flow
Insignificance
MFC
Daughter
Alone
Black (with We Belong Together tag)
Save You
RVM
------------------------------------------------------
encore#1:
Elderly Woman
Thumbing My Way
Sleight of Hand
Hard to Imagine
Alive

Encore #2:
Betterman (with long tag)
Last Kiss
Rockin' in the Free World
Yellow Ledbetter

Oh, and the Supersuckers rocked! I'll definitely be investing in a couple of their CDs over the next little while. Good, solid old-school punk rock. I loved every second of it. Easily one of the best opening bands I've ever seen. Funny, I always knew who they were and how long they'd been around, but for some reason I never got around to checking them out. I guess it's about time I did.
Here's the Calgary Sun review, written by El Douchebag himself, Mike Bell. He actually gave them a favorable review, which is amazing considering he's bashed every album they've put out since "Vs":

this show was AMAZING!

I'll write a little more when I'm better able to collect my thoughts, I can't believe it's taken me this long to see them live, I hope they don't wait as long to come back next time.....and the Supersuckers are amazing, they just like to rock, and do it very well
ha ha....

Man that was sweet. It's all true, it was all great. Supersuckers kicked it off right in a grand way. Get there early. Go see them, go buy thier shit, you'll thank yourself later.

Pearl Jam rules, they put on a kick ass show. 10 Club seats were awesome considering the high 344xxx number. Sec 108 row 10. Great view. Great fuckin night. I can't believe the energy in the dome', I don't think I've seen that place rock that hard before. Unreal. I think there was more energy in there than the last time I saw them in Vancouver....they just seemed to eat it all up.

Fantastic!!

I gotta go to bed. That was great. Best end to the best week ever. Good times.
As this tour was (I thought) in support/preparation for their upcoming studio album, you'd think we woulda been hearing more new songs, yah? I'm a little surprised, they haven't even played Crapshoot Rapture once yet....anyone else surprised by the lack of new material in the sets so far?
how ere youir 10c seats and whats your #???

no, im not suprised at all. They want to keep these songs as new songs since the album doensnt come out until next year. They are releasing all the bootlegs and there fore there new material would be out in the public. They dont have the 2nd st john's show listed on the bootleg site, and im guessing they will break out some of there new stuff there.

I thought the new album was supposed to be out this year, do you know when next year? I haven't been in the message pit for awhile..

I guess thats sort of a good thing, London being my first PJ show I would rather hear alot of stuff from the older albums than new songs, at this point. When they tour again for the new album I plan on going to more shows, especially now that Im in the 10C.

Downloading the show right now. Can't wait to hear it all again. I hope they release a dvd of this tour. Amazing show last night, just so much energy from everyone in the building. :thumb:
