Well I for one sure e-mailed! I said: "Well of course the radio stations have pulled NOIS from the airwaves for the time-being. But to suggest that radio stations never play Canada's most beloved band and members of the Canadian Music Hall of Fame is like saying "Note to radio stations, never play Led Zeppelin." I think in my 28 years of living I have never... never... never heard a more absurd statement! "
Maybe he doesn't dislike the Hip. Maybe he's just being cautious. Perhaps he fears that if the Hip get more airplay, all the dire predictions in their songs will come true. E.g., if a station plays Thompson Girl someone will get stranded at the Unique Motel.

You are making reference to Led Zeppelin's "When the Levee Breaks", right? Because if you just happened to pick Zep from any number of potential big name rock acts, that would be pretty crazy. Great call though.

As a humour columnist who gets his share of hate mail, I can tell you that most people in the media love reactions like the ones you're giving him. He's still a dick - he could have at least insulted the band with a little panache - but sending letters to him will only make him think, "Ha, got them!"
