You're probably right about the media-people, and definitely right about the panache, but the quote seemed to be an unprovoked, bitter attack on the Hip. I'm not sure of the point the statement was even trying to make.
I sent an email saying
"yak yak yak, blah blah blah"
and the subject was something about him sucking...im sure he'll giggle like the little girly girl he is right before he deletes my ass...

Uh...no one is arguing the idea that playing NOIS is insensitive. What people are up in arms about is that this columnist pleaded for the radio stations to not play ANY Hip songs on the radio (translation: he hates The Hip and can't stand to hear them on the radio).
