Uh, yeah. Seeing my favourite band in concert would suck.

But its their call of course.

I really hope they don't tour in support of a greatest hits CD, that would be a shame.
Well that was meant to be hypothetical...but if they did tour, who here would complain? Besides you.

Not complaining, just seems kinda Stonesish, like touring after 40 Licks just to make a bunch of cash. The Hip are supposed to release a new album in the spring or summer of next year, I would rather see them support that then the hits CD, both would be a little too much Hip in my opinion. You need to go away for a while so the main fan base gets that yearning to go see them again. That is why U2 shows are so successfull they only come around every 4 years or so.
i'm with u Billy i'd go see them for any reason or no reason at all! long live the hip!
Regards Big Grin 3 days till moncton! Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

ya man, this band sucks.
I knew it would happen, but CJAY in Calgary just played the song...I guess they needed to get their Can-con in,and seeing as they only really play maybe 4 Hip songs in the rotation they had no choice.
I wish the Hip would play bi-weekly at my local bar! here's my money!

I didn't see anyone say the band sucks. Dumbass! 100 tool points for you.
Power 97 in Winnipeg also said this morning that they will be taking NOIS out of their rotation for the time being out of respect for all the folks dealing with the mess down there.

i for one won't miss it. i am just disappointed that it took a terrible event like this to stop them from playing that song.

yeah, I too am glad that they've stopped playing it at all their post-Katrina shows so far.

Hopefully this trend we've identified will continue.

err..yeah. i just re-read my post  how about "i won't miss it at all, if they do decide not to play it anymore".
the hip write better songs on the road than anywhere. maybe this is the best way for them to realize a new start. sitting in the studio hashing out ideas is not fun and has never been as productive as the road for the hip.

The Black Crowes are touring without an album after 6 years apart. The shows they are putting on are tremendous. probably better than anything they've ever achieved. It's their way of finding out if they even want to try and record another album.

To say that any hip tour is a shame is ridiculous.

Whoa!! Yeesh!!

Ummm.... anyways..... NOIS is a phenomenal song whenever and wherever played. I've never met a HIP fan or non-HIP fan for that matter that disliked the song except for a few HIPBASE members, and I've never understood that. But while the song will obviously be shelved both on the radio and on the stage it's obvious that once the city is rebuilt that it will come back, and come back hard. The only place it might not be performed live again ever would be New Orleans itself.

Ok, so it was 4 years rather than 6, big deal. You're the tool that started all this nonsense by claiming it would be "a shame" if The Hip toured in support of the boxed set. Face it, that's a pretty damn idiotic thing to say. Who's to say they can't tour in support of the greatest hits, release an album in 06, and go on tour again??? You honestly think that wouldn't go over well?? You're dead wrong. You say you'd rather see them support new material....I for one would rather see them tour in support of both.
