i know in kamloops we're broadcasting all day long....of course being a rock station, we won't be playing any of the celine dion, faith hill stuff..as long as we get to hear floyd and the hip..i'm happy
Any chance of The Weakerthans playing at this thing? 8)
According to Robby, The Hip will play only 3 songs for Live 8
hip only playing 3 songs? in barrie? on canada day long weekend? that just doesn`t seem right to me....live 8 or not

I know music is subjective and all but I hate Motley Crue. They are one of the worst bands to ever hit it big. Nickelback are almost as good as the Crue. "Girls, Girls, Girls"??? Give me a break. Motley Crue were and always will be a bunch of no talent hacks. The boys in Sum 41 seem to be fans of Motley Crue. That tells you all you need to know.

I hope everyone likes Bryan Adams.

p.s. If the bands get three songs each, does that mean Tom Cochrane is going to play Life is a Highway three times?

LOL, Ill probably get flamed for this but I would take Nickleback over Crue any day, I hate MC and Dum41. Im glad I didnt buy tickets, if I had drove to Barrie and the Hip only played 3 songs Id lose it.
Tom has more hits than that, Big League and Lunatic Fringe.
From what I remember Ragged Ass Road was a good disc
dont forget....sinking like a sunset..

First of all, I guess there's about 20 artists or so lined up for this, am I right? If so, then with all the delays between acts, and with each act getting maybe 15-30 minutes each (just a guess), it probably shouldn't be too surprising that the Hip won't play many songs. I would have guessed 4 or 5, but 3 is entirely possible. I'll tell you what... that sitting at home and watching Live 8 on TV idea is sounding better and better all the time.
As for Bryan Adams... before I found out about the Hip, Adams was my favourite rock act.
No wait, hear me out.
He had some really good songs in his early work, fun and catchy (and even, with Summer of '69, a little bittersweet)... then his album Into the Fire came out, and I thought it was a huge step... no, a giant leap forward. He was maturing, being more daring, taking more chances. In short he was growing up, just like me. I thought it was perfect.
Then his next album was Waking Up the Neighbours.

hock:
He kind of lost me after that.
Still, I do enjoy his work up to and including Into the Fire, and I always will. Make of that what you will.
I agree that Into The Fire is an excellent album. The song Native Son is incredibly good and incredibly sad if I remember correctly (I haven't listened to it in 10 years probably). May have to dust it off and give it another spin...
