Oh my god...I don't think I know anyone that has their favorite band as a tatoo on their body, let alone a Hip fan...I think you automatically win, fan of the lifetime award for that....I think the only thing worse would be tatooing some broad's name on your ass to find out she cheated on you with the pool guy...

I keep thinking of all those late-80s hair bands where the band members would get their band's name tattooed on their arms--and then the band would either break up or fire them. (There are a couple of guys out there who probably really regret getting Guns'N'Roses tattoos.)
Mind you, I considered a Blue Rodeo tattoo for about five minutes once, but I'm just not a tattoo kind of a gal.

Really? I thought it was quite common...i've got a Cat Stevens (you know the terrorist
) tat on my back...my Buddy has a Perfect Circle on his, and another friend has a mettalica one...3 people, pretty common wouldnt you say?

I've been thinking about getting a hip tattoo, but I don't know if I will. The one Ron has looks awesome. If I ever got one it would probably be the little space guy with the flames coming from his hands on the front of the new IBE hats they were selling at the concerts.

Yeah and they are gong to be stuck with them. Metallica tatoo when I am 50 just doesn't seem right.

Common among your friends. Definitely not common among mine.

Nothing beats my sister when it comes to stupid tattoos. She is 34, married with 2 kids, and has 3 tattoos. The biggest, and ugliest/stupidest one is of Joe the camel (of cigarette fame) shooting pool, with a cigarette dangling out of his mouth, across her left shoulder blade. Joe bloody camel! The others are on her chest..one is a flaming guitar, the other is a yin/yang symbol...both equally ugly/stupid in their own way. She got these over the past 15 years, but I don't think she regrets them at all.
I love her to death, but she has the worst tattoos I have ever seen.

I've always said that the tree from Music@Work would be a great tatoo.

Ron's is real cool. i like the placement too. how painful is it getting tattoo on the calf??? i've wrestled with the idea for years and am always worried that in 10 years i'll be pissed about the subject matter. but i'm pretty sure the hip is a lifetime thing. if not you can just tell people its not only my favorite band but my state of being.
