At nine this morning I went in to have my wisdom teeth removed.

"Look," I said, "we gotta make this snappy. Dylan tickets go on sale at ten."

"Are you buying them online?" he said.

"Yes, and it'll take me 20 minutes to get home. I need these things out by 9:30."

He leaned into my mouth with a huge, vicious needle. "Just give it a minute for the freezing to take effect."

"Fuck the freezing," I mumbled. "We're talking about Bob fucking Dylan here." But it didn't come out right. My tongue was three feet thick, and my lips did not belong to me.

"You're biting my thumb," he said.

I was home at 9:59.

I am using this dentist for the rest of my life.

Damn - I am having mine out next Friday - they do not hurt - but he wants to remove them anyway.
Tell me you didn't drive home after having wisdom teeth pulled. I just got frozen, but I couldn't walk completely straight after... Granted, I had all 4 done in one go, and my entire mouth was frozen for 8 hours, but I definately was in no condition to drive home afterwards...

But either way, that dentist is pretty good.. Smile

Did they put you totally under or just local?

I had mine done when I was 20, about 40 pounds heavier than I am now, and after the full anesthisis treatment, my dad had to literally carry me, injured hockey player style, out to the car Smile I was GONE somethin' fierce!

Sounds like yours was a much more pleasant experience... well, I guess even that depends on what yer into. Smile

So d'ya score decent seats? Looks like I'll be travellin to see the man myself.
I ended up with ninth row. Not bad. April is looking up: B.B. King on the 5th, and then Dylan on the 12th. Who's left? Elvis?

The teeth were under local. It's definitely a weird experience, hearing them come loose. Sounds like splintering wood and so on. I'll spare you the rest of the details.

And I didn't drive home.

I actually had two out a month ago and two out today. It was a snap both times, really. But I think it really depends on how easy they are to get at.

I, on the advice of my ortho, had 8 teeth pulled (4 regular, 4 wisdom) over the course of a year. None of them went as easily as yours though, seems you really had a good doc.

I'll look for ya on the 12th.
I would kill for Dylan tickets...or have my wisdom teeth out without freezing...
