I'm looking forward to road tripping to Toronto for the show at the Mod Club. I know The Strippers Union CD is out on June 14th. I doubt if the CD will be stocked in Michigan stores and I was thinking of crossing the border to Windsor, Ont. to pick it up.
Does anyone know of a website where the CD can be preordered? The Universal Canada website only states the release date and no opportunity to buy it. I also checked Maple Music, but a search of the site revealed no hits. I was hoping to get the CD without the hassle of border crossings.

I heard that too and am looking forward to it. I love the Studio 97 sessions....very cool idea. I just wish they were longer.

Anybody know of anyplace where we can hear the single?
Wow I am sooo looking forward to hearing and seeing these guys. And it's not just because of Bobby, though that is part of it, but it's because of the Odds influence aswell.
Circa 1996, Winnipeg - Odds are opening for The Tragically Hip on their lastest coast to coast tour. Now I had heard a few Odds songs on the radio prior to seeing them open for the Hip, and thought they were decent. However, after seeing them rock the old Winnipeg Arena, they blew me away. I clearly remember a rockin version of 'It Falls Apart', and classic 'Eat My Brain'.
After that show I went and bought all their CD's, love em all, and saw them the following year at the Rondeveu (sp?) for a smaller (1200) show, and absolutely loved them there aswell.
I was quite sad when they called it quits, and felt they stopped recording as a group too early into a blossoming career.
So, I cannot wait to hear what all these boys have to give us now.
Let's just say it will be and Oddly-Hip sound!!!

Yeah, I'm chomping at the bit to hear him SING! :jump
I'm going with my wife WheatQueen to the Toronto and London shows. Hearing Robbie sing will be one of the things I will be looking forward to. I can't think of a song he sings back up on with The Hip. In fact he doesn't have a mike when he plays with TTH. Right?
Does Robbie have a high or low singing voice? He did have a part in the play Jesus Christ Superstar recently. He got a decent review for it. It definetly will be interesting to hear him.
The part he played in JCS was Caiaphus, who's always played with a really deep voice. His speaking voice is deep as well.
And I'm also kind of tickled about the idea of hearing Robby sing. You're right, he never sings with the Hip. In fact if I recall correctly the night I saw them play in a club in Dallas he walked onstage, smiled in a friendly and slightly shy way, and then put his head down and hid behind the hair and the guitar for the next two hours. It was kind of endearing, really.
Does he sing with this band? I assumed Craig would be doing the vocals. I haven't heard the single yet, so maybe you all know something that I don't.

That would explain why he doesn't sing with the Hip. Bass voices don't work too well in rock. How many bass rock singers can you recall off the top of your head?
The guy from Crash Test Dummies is the only one I can think of.
I haven't heard the album yet, but I get the impression that Craig will be doing the singing.

Yeah, IIRC, that was stated in the original press Bobby was doing. There's an interview posted 'round here someplace.

Very odd...I just came back from my neighbourhood's used music store, and found a copy of the album for $10. I decided to check in here to see what the reviews are like, but I guess it hasn't officially been released. Haven't put it on yet, but I'll be checking it out tonight...I wonder how the store had a copy 2 days before it hits shelves.....My lucky day I guess :thumb:
I'm midway through listening to this album for the first time in a while. Some good tunes on this :thumb:
