well said, I liked Alice..but AIC without Layne is NOT AIC, and I wouldnt care to hear them with anyone else, charity aside.
Man. no one knows how to have any fun on these forums. I catually had 3 alice in chain albums before I was robbed. I used them as coasters on my coffee table.
glad to hear the discs are in safe and loving hands, or at least in a pawn shop where somebody who appreciates them will see them and give them a loving home. here's to hoping burglers rescue more of your stuff sometime soon

!
Musical tastes vary from person to person, and thus are subjective. The measure of one's musical aptitude should not be subjective. Any consortium of musical minds will tell you that Cantrell has a TON of talent, regardless of who enjoys the music and who doesn't.
If you disagree, then I'm afraid you wouldn't know musical aptitude if it slapped you upside the head.
Excellent Horrible! That is to say...well put 8) .
I agree with Esthete's point regarding the difference between subjective taste and objective talent. However, I never really paid much mind to AIC so I am unable to relish this fray.
I watched AIC get booed when they opened for Anthrax/Megadeth/Slayer in '90...I saw them tear everyone a new hole at Lollapalooza '93...Needless to say, I saw them go from humble beginnings to worldwide contenders. I really loved Dirt and Jar Of Flies. I appreciate them supporting a serious cause, but if they decide to get together, I say, give it a new name. Layne and Jerry's voices mixed very well together, and I just don't think the guy from Damageplan or Queensryche is going to fit HALF as well. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Just my $0.02
Hey Darkest, how old are you just out of curiosity

That's what you gotta love about DC. He "
doesn't like to post about his private life", but we know his age, we know he has an uncle that supposedly played in the NHL, we know he lives at home with his mommy, we know that he's in his 7th year of high school, and we know that he has a "fiancee", but he
doesn't like to post about his private life. That's just for his imaginary friends.

Too true. And very funny. [sarcasm]Or is this irony... ever since Alanis wrote that song, I've been unsure about finding irony in things.[/sarcasm]

I think Alanis had "bad luck" confused with irony. But I guess: "Isn't it bad luck, don't you think" didn't have quite the same flow.
Ah man, he's just a kid, that doesn't make it fun any more.
