sounds great, also sounds like it would make for an excellent dvd, which in turn could help raise even more funds.
It won't be the same without Layne..
or course not, it'll still be pretty cool though.
Yeah..I guess we'll find out.
Whats the point, when the lead singer is 6 feet under. Not to mention that they really weren't all that great in the first place.

My thoughts exactly!

But after reviewing the article, it does sound like an interesting event... especially with Sir-Mix-A-Lot.
THE POINT IS TO RAISE MONEY FOR CHARITY!!!!!!!!! NOT ALL THAT GREAT IN THE FIRST PLACE!?!?!?! THAT DESERVES A GOOD SLAP! GIVE YOUR HEAD A SHAKE!
ALICE IN CHAINS - LAYNE STALEY = JERRY CANTRELL & HIS MERRY BAND OF HACKS
I thought Alice In Chains were great, but Layne Staley isn't a singer you can duplicate. It would be interesting to hear/see all the same, but certainly not anything Alice In Chains worthy.

Although I probably would have said the same thing after Bon Scott died, and we all know how that turned out.

Cantrell was the the force behind the band, with Staley just being a frontman with a unique, powerful voice.
yeah, i'm not saying this will live up to the AIC of the 90's, it's just nice to see the guys back together on one stage with friends, for a good time and a good cause. Layne, or no Layne, it'll be a great show when you have that many other talented people performing.
HAHA, I failed to read the article, I was to busy thinking about how bad they were. Sorry charity is a good cause. Doesn't change the fact that they were an over rated band to say the least.
But what do I know, I am a man in a box.
OVERRATED!?!?!?!?! no, they were under rated, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and STP got all the glory, but AIC really never got the respect they deserve, and i guess they still don't, it's a damn shame.
Overrated, underrated...it's all subjective. If you like(d) Alice In Chains, be comfortable and happy with that.
I'll go ahead and speak on behalf of Pearl Jam. They are much better than AIC ever dreamed of being. Layne couldnt hold a candle to Eddie Vedder.
