Buffalo = no Superbowls

Miami = Superbowl + perfect season, the only team to ever do so, not even NE,

Sabres = lol

Canadiens = lol look at all our Stanley Cup Championship Banners, and all the players of ours who reside in the hall of fame

Red Sox = lol, it only took us 80 years but we did it

Yankees = look who's laughing now, we've got the Big Unit and the Empire is poised to strike back in '05! (not to mention all those WS titles)

ps: the Simpsons are on right now, the episode where Lisa can pick all the winners in the NFL, it's the Superbowl, Washington vs. Buffalo...guess who loses :lol:?

Hey, be as anti-Bettman as you want, but you're fooling yourself if you think today's players aren't skilled. They are bigger, faster, and they are in shape year round. Gretzky himself has said that players today are way better than they were in his day. The clutching and grabbing is a function of refs being afraid to call it, and there being less room on the ice because players are so much bigger than they were 20 years ago.

The Darkest Canuck Wrote:no, that's what the league wants you to think, and what they want the lesser known/paid members of the NHLPA to think, but it's not true, Goodenow has done a better job for his players than anyone could've ever expected out of him, he should get a medal of honour or a nobel prize for having top put up with that weasley little bastard Bettman and not choking him out yet.

I'd suggest 30 years, but I doubt he'll be any smarter in 2035.
The Darkest Canuck Wrote:that weasley little bastard Bettman and not choking him out yet.

That "weasley little bastard" is THE reason players are paid so well today. Because of him, expansion dollars flowed into owners' pockets like never before which allowed them to pay players what they've been paid over the previous decade. And because the expansion gravy train ride has come to an end is one of the reasons a cap is needed.

C'mon, surely even you can connect the dots.
I suppose if you want to bring up the past we can:

Each Buffalo victory over Miami in the playoffs has been decisive. The Bills ended the Dolphins' 1990 season by winning in the snow, 44-34, then won the AFC championship game at Miami two years later, 29-10.
In 1995, Buffalo ended Don Shula's coaching career by beating the Dolphins 37-22. The Bills rushed for 341 yards that day.
"I'd like to be able to call it forgettable," Miami defensive end Trace Armstrong said, "but I remember it well."
And we took care of that sad sad team twice this year.
The dolphins franchise is a joke. Montreal is in Quebec and nobody likes the Quebecois. The yankees lost a 3-0 lead to Boston and your boy A-Rod did his best choke job in that series.

and oh yeah..... everyone on this board hates you.....at least half the people here can tolerate me.

Dude, live in the NOW. You weren't even close to being born when Miami's perfect season happened. The only thing the Dolphins have been in your lifetime are perennial underachievers, playoff chokers, and this season, downright awful. You're fooling yourself if you think the Dolphins of the past twenty years have more to brag about that the Bills do. I'm not even a Bills fan, but I laugh MUCH harder at Dolphins' fans than Bills fans. If shoulda coulda woulda won championships, the Dolphins would have ten by now.

way to hate French people, i actually like French people though, lots of my closest friends are French, know who I don't like though?

...

AMERICANS. If you want to talk about a people that EVERYONE hates, EVERYONE hates Americans, go to any country in the world, and you're sure to find people that hate Americans.

and the point of saying something like that would be? people may hate American policy, American leaders, and stereotypical "American" attitudes and ideals, but I'm not quite sure how that has bearing in this discussion. You're only making yourself out to be obnoxious and ill-mannered.

i'm fighting his stupidity with my stupidity, and my stupidity is far superior to his. see, he attacked the French people of Quebec undeservedly, so i attacked his people...is that really hard to follow?
No, its not hard to follow. Its hard to understand why its necessary, on either level. Mike's comment came across as a bit more sarcastic and in good nature. Your comment, no matter how it was intentioned, seems to be in poor taste.

fight fire with fire, eye for an eye, so on and so forth, yadda yadda yadda....if you want to know the truth it's because i dislike him and refuse to be the one to take anything from anyone when i don't have to.
Undeservedly???? Even your own canadian bretheren despise le quebecois. Remember the vote?? I know quite a few canadians who realize how great of a country the United States is. Go back to your inferiority complex. If you dont like American then leave my NFL alone.

anyways back on topic.....The NHL Union is the biggest bunch of bullshit goin these days and you are a fool to not realize that.

Canadians don't hate Quebecois, most don't anyway, it was the other way around during the vote, and they lost, and seperatism is probably higher in Newfoundland or Alberta now than it is Quebec...anybody that "despises" Quebec, or any part of the country, is not my "Canadian brother" or even a true Canadian IMO. The NHLPA is not bs, the NHL trying to pimp out our fair game to rednecks and hillbillies is bullshit, and if it weren't for the NHLPA my uncle would've never been able to get the surgery he needed on his leg just so he can walk and take his kids skating, so F U C K YOU!
wah wah wah. my poor leg. i've been here for one day and i can see that you're the most hated person on this board. the quebec vote was very close and there will be one again soon, at least according to my canadian poly sci prof.

the nhlpa is ruining the game of hockey. these greedy, self centered a-holes, won't open a paper and realize that women's pool is getting higher ratings, and yet they want 10 million dollar paychecks. so i'm sorry if it offends your uncle and his gangrenous leg, that most people don't like the nhlpa right now
the problem is the Americanization of a Canadian game, check the ratings in Canada my boy, and tell me what gets higher ratings than hockey...that's right...NOTHING. To Hell with the NHL, bring on the Canadian Elite League, and let's get that Stanley Cup awarded.
