He ripped into Pierre McGuire the other week saying that he won't cooperate with him in the future because McGuire had the NERVE to give his opinion that 75% of the players would accept a cap. So yeah, Domi's OK - as long as you agree with him.
With NHLers now playing in the UHL - a league with a salary cap - I thought I'd design a new jersey for Trevor Linden. What do y'all think?

Haha! Brilliant!

Awesome, cferneyh! Now we need to design one for Chelios, since he can't stop opening up his mouth and lipping off to Bettman, but he actually is PLAYING in the league with the salary cap (at least Linden's not doing that... yet!).
It should have "IDIOT" on the back!

Done! But I chose a different name.

hey sharpen your skates and tape your sticks because coming to a hockey town near you OPEN TRYOUTS
We'll here we are, its all down to this: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?id=115048 Its do or die time, I personally would have like to see this happen weeks ago, anybody think the NHLPA will accept? I hope not, as much as I miss hockey, the thought of a 28 game season doesnt sit well with me, I mean what if Nashville has a lucky run and ends up winning the cup or something, yeeeeeesh! The only good thing if they accept is we wont have to talk or hear about it anymore. :x
well hopefully we will all be dancing in the streets by 1pm tomorrow.

Now I gotta cut loose, FOOTLOOSE!!
i said when they couldn't reach an agreement on sept 15 the day after the WCH and my birthday, that there'd be no hockey this year, i stand by that statement. maybe next year. it'll be interesting to see if the WHA gets up and running if there's not going to be NHL next year either, i'd think that the majority of North American born players would love to play in the WHA rather than in Europe or the AHL or the UHL or w/e. with all that being said...
BRING ON THE IIHF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS! :rambo:
i dont know maybe i'm just used to no hockey but a 28 game schedule??
wtf, why even bother. No team is playoff shape by then... although maybe the leafs would have a shot and not be tired ..hmmmm i love the 28 game schedule. Go Leafs GO
Seriously, its not worth playing imo.
A 28-game regular season is ridiculous, and if the NHL wasn't a complete joke in the eyes of sports fans, especially in the US, then it would be now. The worst part of this whole thing is they could have bargained for real and solved this whole problem a long time, but instead they postured, and now they are basically jerking the fans around with their "will they or won't they?" negotiations. They should basically cancel the season, but continue to work on making a deal and working on rule changes or whatever to improve the on-ice product, so when they do come back next season, they can do so with a better game and with their financial house in order. Then, maybe, enough fans will come back to make it worthwhile again.
Until then, I'm sick of the whole charade.
They didn't 'negotiate' a long time ago because the union thought the owners would cave in. I think they'll settle on a cap of $45.5M. My question is, does that really solve the issue of teams that are already under the proposed cap and still lose money?
The shouldn't award the Cup. How about a salad dish instead?

Well, that's all I needed to hear from Gary. It's official. No hockey this season. Thanks NHLPA. Thanks NHL. You've severely tainted almost a century of proud hockey history simply because of greed. F**K you both from the bottom of my angry, bitter heart.
I am very interested to see what is going to happen with the draft.

Unfortunately there won't be one of those either...the Sidney Crosby sweepstakes will have to wait another year!!!

Well put... they deserve all the bitterness and hatred they'll get from the fans. A pox on all their houses. :rambo:
