Any OLP fans out there? Does anyone know when their new album is supposed to come out? I can remember them teasing us with new material waay back at Edgefest 2003 with the Hip. I know some bands take their time releasing new material but OLP is usually pretty good with spacing out the albums, those "new songs" they played in Barrie were pretty cool as I recall, I couldnt wait to here a new album. Just wonderin if anyone has a clue :?
I heard a while ago the lead singer went in for an ego transplant and his body rejected it because it wasn't big enough...so he's in a self-induced coma until they find a reasonable replacement.

New OLP Album: March '05, concerning Raine's ego, im worried its all gone to his head

hock:
I know what's up with OLP
They suck like nickelback giving a hummer!
I used to like OLP... I saw them in concert in London a few years ago when they toured for Clumsy, and they put on a great show. But Raine's ego started to bother me after a while, and their last CD (first one after Mike Turner left, I think) did absolutely NOTHING for me. Too bad... I hate it when bands I like start going downhill and releasing crap music... but oh well, it happens I guess.
somebody give me examples of how Raine's ego has gotten too big.

They're just one big happy family... now go buy their records!!!!

the only knock against Raine that I have is his propensity to really ham it up on stage. A couple times when OLP played here in Milwaukee 2 summers ago, Raine climbed the light trestles on either side of the stage and belted out the songs. More showmanship than voice, really.
He did that on the Much Music Video awards, too.. the day after Edgefest at Barrie...

Ive been a longtime fan of the band, and Raine's ego getting out of hand is subject to some debate I guess, I dont really take an interest in his personal life or non-OLP ventures, and its not like everytime I turn on TV he's there or seldom do I read about him on the net or in magazines, and I dont think he's every endorsed anything besides warchild. I dont really feel his ego is gotten out of hand, every time Ive seen the band live they put on a great show, lots of energy and I love the Gravity album. The first album Naveed was great, Clumsy I dont really like, Happiness is a fish..... was a decent album showed they were progressing a bit, then came the concept album Spiritual Machines and it blew me away I thought it was a great album, then the guitar player quit and I actually think it was a good move, looking back ever since he bolted they've stepped it up a notch, Gravity rocks and the live shows got better, the live album is proof of that. The new songs they played at Edgefest sounded pretty cool, and Ive been patiently waiting for Gravitys follow up for some time now, I personally think they have gotten better with each album so I have high expectations for the next one, plus Bob Rock is producing it and that cant hurt either. So it looks like March according to musicatworkusa, if thats the case Im surprised we havent heard a single yet? Makes me think it will be a summer release.
lol, it could be a summer release, I would expect to hear a single at th end of the month, if it was March...which sadly each day doubt is growing.
You wrote excatly what I was thinking. Spiritual Machines is a f'n stellar album. By the way just cause someone works with and/or are friends with a pop artist (Avril) doesnt mean that their ego has gotten too big. Maybe their wallet but not their ego.
