^ I agree that the Luxury is underrated, so is Fight; and speaking of Road Apples, I would submit to you that Long Time Running is overrated and couldn't carry Fight's jockstrap if it came to it.

As for anything off the new album, I don't think you can say any IBE song is underrated yet, and certainly not Heaven is a Better Place Today which everyone talks about (whether they like it or not) and the Hip play at every concert -- how is that underrated?

Daredevil, Don't Wake Daddy, and Vapour Trails are also underrated in my opinion and are in the top three songs on their respective albums.

well, i put Heaven on that list because i've heard so much negative feedback towards it on here, and you're everywhere just doesn't get enough feedback period, but yeah, i understand what you're saying about the new stuff. I'll also agree with you on Daddy, but as far Daredevil and Trails, they're certainly not underrated on this messageboard, they're jocked as hard as any other hips songs out there (ie Escape, Penguin, Flamenco, Pidgeon Camera ect ect).
Im gonna tackle this as in, underated by The Hip, cause they dont play em enough:

up to here: When The Weight Comes Down
Road Apples: Cordelia
Fully Completley: Pigeon Camera
Day For Night: Thugs
TATH: Put it off
PP: Escape and Emperor Penguin
M@W: Freak Turbulence
IVL: The Dark Canuck
IBE: ***The Heart Of The Melt**** PLEASE PLAY THIS SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who are you yelling at...
The Completists. Always loved that song and it's so underrated that it hasn't even been mentioned in here yet.

Amen, brotha! :thumb: Probably the most overlooked song on M@W.
it is a gem no doubt, it's just so light and fluffy...it's like the musical equivalent of cool whip, or clouds
Completists has been luring me with talk of still more talk since the first time I listened to it - driving up the Wilson hill west of Yonge Street, I remember listening to the song, getting about halfway through it and hitting repeat cause I couldn't believe how much I was loving it and I wanted to start over and concentrate on it.

clearly lifeless, barefeet,

Thank you for making this thread (Much to Lord's chagrin  ) I was going to make it after listening to Henhouse, but then my mind wandered.

Let's Stay Engaged
Toronto #4
Yawning or Snarling
Put it off (someone else mentioned)
Who said Thugs? Nice.

-You guys said all the rest, except ABAC  .
Another top five list...awesome. Smile

1. The Completists
2. Chagrin Falls
3. Emergency (has this ever been played live??)
4. Leave
5. The Luxury, if only because it's playing as we speak

Steve-o :thumb:
Good call on Emergency and The Luxory
I don't think most people talk about Henhouse as much as it deserves. I was just into the radio hits before that, but Henhouse made me apreciate them as artists.

700ft ceiling
don't wake daddy
lets stay engaged
put it off

...all underrated or forgotten by all but the truest fans
there needs to be more discussion of Cemetery Sideroad, a truly incredible song, it's soooooooo unfair that Highway Girl gets all the glory when to me this is the real highlight of the s/t ep, musically, lyrically, and my god, that solo!!!!!!!!!!!!
Id say....

Titanic Terrarium
Stay
Leave
Pigeon Camera
One Night In Copenhagen
Inch an Hour
Freak Turbulence
The Rules
At least among my group of friends these are not as talked about or well liked, I know my fellow Hipbaser's have a more refined pallet(so to speak)and being the best Hip fans around are familiar with all these songs and probably love them just as much as I do, maybe more!
All are great songs IMO, and although some might not be the most popular, I really enjoy them. Sometimes songs seem to fall by the wayside after a long career and several albums but its those not so popular songs that really make a band, in these days of "one-hit wonders," looking back on the entire Hip catalogue, all of their so called non-hit songs would be good enough to make a great career out of on their own, compared to todays shit-rock bands who couldnt make a top to bottom hit record if they tried a million times. All hip songs are great and special, I love em all! :thumb:
Most of IVL and M@W (the album)
IBE: N.O. is Beat, Heaven, Makeshift

The older stuff is all over-rated imo, I just want to hear post-Fully Completely music nowadays.

Cap'n...The Heart of the Melt is my fave on the new album and I don't understand why they don't play it. Gord sings about Dorsal Fins and everything....
