Right on Jen! If any of your attractive, single female nursing students are looking for dummies to practice mouth-to-mouth on, sign me and Dame up. :jump (The emphasis in on

dummies.

   Will do , Chris
Thanks to all of you...you are the best group of online pals I could have :thumb:

It'd be the most action I've had in weeks!
*Wait a minute... self-deprecation 'aint so funny when the truth begins to trump the joke. Sex is like air: no big deal 'till you're not getting any.*

I had my bacehlor's degree in 1985 then spent about ten mindnumbing years working manual labor menial kinds of jobs( ironically, in the medical field for a big chunk of time). Finally, went back and got my teaching certificate/master's in 1995.
I found myself doing much better in school the second time around ( also part time). Possibly I was more mature( could it be?) or maybe, my theory, the teaching requirements in New York state are such, that, so long as the check clears, the classes are easier.
Of course, others have suggested that maybe since I was focused on the "end of the line", it seemed easier.
Nursing and teaching are not too different. You're never too sure what you're going to encounter when you go to work. You have to deal with about 20 or 30 different sets of needs, problems, and issues, at a time. Some, not as appreciative of your efforts as you'd hope. I won't even mention the co-workers and administrators! Extra paperwork to deal with when the shift ends. On your feet most of the day. Pay isn't the greatest.
However, since the time I began teaching, I would say I'm a better person(others would debate that greatly), got to travel, lived south for awhile, saw the hip 2x up close and personnal, met many fine people, and seem like I am making a difference in some people's lives. By the way, I "grew up" in Hamburg, so maybe your experiences will be similar. Good luck!
And as a teacher, I have summer's off, so they aren't killing me.

Sadly... I'm in the same situation as you are Stephen. But at least we've got Jen working for us!

:thumb: I'm here to help
I hope you're feeling better, Jenna... I'm hoping for some good vibes out your way!!
There are now exactly THIRTY days left in classes. Thirty! Then a couple exams, and bing bam boom it's all over and done with. Forever. WOOHOO! I know this might not be what you want to hear when you're just heading back, but if I can tell you anything, it's that it gets pretty tough on the way there, but the destination is sweet as can be!!! Keep your chin up!!
Congrats Jen! Best of luck to you!
I did a similar thing 6 years ago, went back to a technical school, got my Associates. Couldn't ask for a better job now. Its tough, and a ton of hard work. Just stay focused and you'll do great! :thumb:

Well, we both do live in Ontario... wanna get married? ... or am I?

Good luck with going back to school... I'm sure things will work out great.
Right now I wish I was in that position... I will be soon, but I have to stick it out a little while longer to save up... tuition is so expensive these days. And it'll be tough, because I hate my f'n job! :x
So, I'm in the perhaps unusual position of looking forward to change. That normally wouldn't be the case, but sometimes things happen in life that lead you to needing and craving change.
Just my thoughts...
So, Jen, do tell; will you stop with the nursing degree or push further? Or maybe you're undecided right now? I have quite a bit of medical knowledge also but it's only cuz I read alot. It's not like I took any course or nothing. I'm not a big fan of fiction, I read alot of it but it's not my primary preference, so, being pretty much raised by libraries and spending day-in and day-out in the library, I read alot of non-fiction including medical texts.
The books were like from the 60s and 70s so I'm not exactly up-to-date.... anatomy hasn't really changed but general technique and methods have; I once found a list that had me in stitches. It was something like The Characteristics Of The Normal Individual or something... and it was saying funny stuff that people thought was "normal" in the 70s... I wish I had a solid example of it... I should've photocopied it or something.
I wanted to a surgeon when I was 15... kinda still do but not sure if I want to flip all that money for schooling and stuff.
Well, for now I am planning on getting my RN license and then perhaps adding to that later. As far as a doctor, I thought about it years ago and actually had a plan to do so but the money wasn't there. I don't think that being a doctor is something that I want to do anymore but who knows, once I get deeper into the medical field, I may change my mind.

Great to hear you're still going full steam ahead for the nurse idea...maybe one day things might be more opportune for getting an MD. But that's looking too far ahead. Getting your RN is a great step forward, and I hope you have fun doing it!

I hope that everything will work out for you also and that you can go back to school :thumb: I know how expensive tuition is, and we are not getting any help except for loans. It is hard but I wish you lots of luck also.

Thank you... I appreciate the support. :thumb:
I figure I need to stay focused on my end goal and try not to sweat the day-to-day stuff of where I am now... if I can do that then I think everything will work out fine.
