A little birdie sent me an email, and said that was the reason for no fan recodings today!

Sweet! Those of us in the rest of the country will get a chance to see the show!

On a somewhat related note - my 50 year old MOTHER is going to be there! Its the first time I've ever been jealous of a concert that my mom is going to.
I guess i should get on the road hah 2.5hrs here we come :S
Trippinbillyrmc Wrote:the brass is the place to be, Smitty will be on stage, he knows every song there ever was! Just scream one out and he'll play it!

If you go to the Brass to see Smitty tonight, shout out songs he has no hope of knowing how to play. We always shout "Black Dog" and "Iron Man" at him.

Cheers to those at the show. Stuck in TO, there in spirit, ready for the DVD.

Your mom rocks! Hope she doesn't instigate crowd surfing! Big Grin

will the audio also be recorded and released?

Someone in one of the opening bands sent me the email in response to an email I sent, asking for assistance in getting in with my camera.

The email was very brief, and simply said, "the reason that taping is not allowed is that The Hip are filming a DVD."

No other details were included.
i see you are home now did you go to the show?
I bought tickets, and had every intention of going, but it just wasn't in the cards. Thankfully I was able to sell my tickets last night.

In a strange twist of fate, I scored a VIP pass to the Canadian Open.. so although I didn't get to see The Hip, I still saw an incredible show. Smile

The reviews from the townies(what Queen's students call locals in Kingston) should start rolling in soon.
The anticipation to see what the setlist was is killing me.
So traffic must be crap in Kingston tonight, or the show ran late, or both?

Anxious for a review, and confirmation of the DVD!
I can only imagine getting to the show and seeing all the professional video gear there. What a souvenir.
SETLIST?!?!?!?!?!?!?

must...have...setlist!
I put the setlist in the review section
So they played Escape, eh... that mustve been absolutely incredible...

Thats really awesome, although still looks like just about every other setlist as of late, Im sorry to say.
If you look at the setlist on thehip.com, they've listed Bobcaygeon as "In Bobcaygeon"....same mistake as the Labatt Blue Music promotion CD.

I didn't see any video equipment there, with the exception of Bruce McDonald's camera. I was in the front row, but it's possible I missed it. I was ducking crowd surfers and water bottles most of the night.
