Okay, everyone has their faves...what is the least fave in your opinion...or the weakest in your opinion??
Myself, for now (and this will probably change once I spin the CD over and over)...Makeshift.
Just not catching onto that song quite yet.

when listening to the cd, i might of had a couple of weakest links, however once you here these songs live, it a totally new set of songs. Only one i might go with is new orleans is beat.. dont know why
Isn't it a little early to be condeming songs? Sometimes it can take years... for me anyway.
Albums are experiences, as my life changes, so do my preferences... but right now, I love the whole damn thing.
At this moment in time, I am going with Summer is Killing Us. It is a decent tune, but I have heard it a lot more than the rest of the songs and it just doesn't do anything for me......still. Chorus is catchy and it picks up at the 2 minte mark, but overall, the weakest tune on the album.

Oh no Stephen, no condemnation here. I like all the songs...but obviously we all have our faves and least faves. That's all I was trying to get across. I appreciate all of Gord's hard work in writing the lyrics...and the band's performance in playing to the songs.
Just, as I said, there is always a tune or two that doesn't sit well in the first 4 or 5 or 6 listens.

I listened to the album en route to Toronto/Mod Club yesterday afternoon and wrote four WordPerfect pages of first impressions and associated ramblings. Love the album; not too sure about "Copenhagen" however, and last night's performance did nothing to convince me that it's as good as the rest of the stuff on there. Not that I don't love the song...it's just a matter of degrees with this band.

I'm with you kari, Makeshift is my least fave. However, everything's relevant. I'm sure if some unknown band released Makeshift I'd be thoroughly impressed. But I absolutely love the CD. One more day + one flight for the Amphitheatre!!!!
On Night In Copenhagen gets my vote...
can't believe Makeshift made this list, it's my favorite song to crank up... but that's the beauty of music and how it touches people in different ways.
Summer's Killing Us is the only song that I skip over when listening.

i still don't understand all the negative views towards summer..for me it's one of the strongest tracks on the album, and one of the strongest tracks in years!! different strokes for different folks i guess, but for me summer sums up the whole album, lyrically, musically, and the energy level that it has!!
The Heart Of The Melt doesn't work with me......right now anyways

I love that song! I've had the CD in my car for the past 24 hrs. and everytime that tune kicks in, I end up hittin' the gas pedal a little too hard and I suddenly realize I'm driving waaaay too fast. Much like Fire in the Hole and The Wherewithal, it makes ya want to start a mosh pit in your own living room. And I hate mosh pits.
I'd have to say Mean Streak. I dunno why.
Makeshift doesn't grab either like the others...
