Hey all, I was listening to edge 102 today and they mentioned that "summer is killing us" will be released on puretracks.com tomrrow at 8am. It was supposed to be available at 1pm today, but they mentioned it had been delayed to tomorrow. I can't way, this is great news!!!
really!? i sure hope thats true...there sure seems to be a damn lot confusion and lack of clarity/definitiveness in this whole album releasing process...i say the hip need to hire some Clarica advisers(you know, form the commercials...)
I think this is so confusing because rumors keep getting passed around as news. When I first started posting in alt.music.tragically-hip everyone was convinced that the new album was a double album called "As Yet Untitled".
i take it that this download will only be available in canada again.
i'd have no problem forking over a dollar but i dont have that option.
so i'll do what i gotta do..............sorry mom and that angry dude at the record company.
I listen to the Edge at work, and the mentioned it a total of six times...so let's assume it'll be there, bright and early...
Myself, I can't wait
Awesome, i cant wait, something to listen to after work tomorrow
After work? I'm downloading, burning and listening to it on the way to work!
It's posted on the Hip website.
well I work at 7am so I really dont have the option of doing before work, oh if i could though, i be doing the same as you
I think the is the first time I've ever heard of a band releasing two singles before the album is even out. Why not just release the whole damn thing? I wonder if there's a possibility of pushing up the release date. Probably just wishful thinking on my part, but hey, I guy can dream, can't he?
sounds like a record company money grab to me...so we have to pay 2 dollars for 2 songs and then essentially pay for the same songs again in a month?sorry but i`m not biting...i am sure that this new single will be findable by thursday and i fully intend to download it for free.sorry if anyone doesnt agree with this but with the amount money i have put into hip music (gone through at least 2 cds of each album up to and including LBU before i got a computer where i can burn backup discs) i refuse to line the pockets of fatcat record execs and their bullshit ideas of releasing records.

I'll gadly pay for it, but I wonder how much of each dollar payed for the single actually goes to the band?
I won't pay for it. Gasp! Treason, I know! Sorry, but I am not paying fifteen to twenty beans for the record and buying individual songs spereately. I downloaded Vaccination Scar and I intend to do the same with this song. The Hip gets a few pennies when I buy the album, and they get most of my money in ticket sales, so why not take the individual song for free? Since it'll be released to radio st ations before the album's realease, we'll be able to listen to it for free anyway!
my guess is that the band gets about one cent and the rest goes to the label...that sounds about right, 99% to the label 1% to the people who create the music
