11 wrestler's were just suspended for steroids.
I guess someone needs to die, for the WWE to start taking action.
Or is there news of other suspensions before the Benoit thing?
Jeff Hardy got booted for substance abuse a while back...but that wasn't steroids.
kinda makes sense, but possibly even more sad than the roid rage theory

.
A buddy at work said that he's one of the few wrestlers that would want his oppentent to give him a chairshot in the head as opposed to the back
It's ridiculous that WWE is claiming that there's no medical evidence of concussions in his career. Dude's jumped off BY GAWD 20 FOOT TALL cages and contacted opponents with his face, for Christ's sake. Heaven forbid his choice of work should possibly have influenced his fate.
Well isnt wrestling just a big fake show???
By the way people talked all these years, I thought wrestling was so fake you couldnt get hurt.........To say a wrestler became a murderer because of frequent concussions is so stupid.....If that were the case there would be alot of football-hockey players and such killing people EVERYDAY!!!
that is some really ignorant shit to be saying...especially in light of this whole situation...wrestling is NOT fake...it's staged...the outcomes are predetermined...but they're in the ring doing these fucking insane stunts for real...all year long...there's n o off season in wrestling...all the time off you have is spent training and conditioning, or healing from injuries...these guys hardly ever get to spend time with their loved ones...they don't get any credit from the majority of people for being good athletes or actors...they don't make the same kind of money that other superstar talent (athletes, actors, musicians ect.) get...did you actually read the article? did you not see where it showed what Benoit's brain tissue looked like? you don't think that a lifetime of hard blows to the head could possibly have extremely negative effects on a person's psyche or thought patterns? have you been in the head a lot too?
ok i think htat's it for now...not ending the rant though, just putting it on pause.

Wrestling is a joke. I used to watch it when I was a kid but then I realized how ridiculous it was.
They aren't good actors. Just look at one of their biggest stars and how he's proven over and over again how horrible he is in his movies (The Rock).
The top wrestlers are millionaires so I don't know why you are acting like they are poor.
i'm not saying you have to like it or watch it, but you should respect them for being the best in their field at what they do...just like anyone else in that position...
what i'm trying to say is that these guys don't get the credit they deserve for the amount of work they put into their jobs...that's all...

Well, it's just my personal opinion that their jobs are a joke. I'm sure they work hard at injecting themselves with steroids and lifting weights.
I'm sorry, man. They just take themselves too seriously. Bret Hart thought the sh&t was real.

cratch:
i'm pretty sure that bret hart didn't think it was "real"...
the knocks these guys take are real though. and they have a brutal work schedule. the outcome may be pre-determined, but a lot of what they do in the ring is risking injury every single night
The WWE is a joke, but the organization is worth millions because of the millions more who tune in on a regular basis. I saw a documentary about the Hart family shortly after Owen had died in the ring and it was eye-opening. Vince was basically depicted as a giant douche bag who used the "wrestlers" against each other to increase the danger of the business.
If you weren't prepared to jump from a 30' foot ladder on to a floor full of tacks and some other poor sap was, then he'll get paid next week and you won't because who won't be "wrestling" until you do - nor would you go anywhere in the company ("win" matches, titles, opportunities, get airtime, whatever).
Those who sacrificed their bodies were able to generate more money for Vince's pocket. Fans were obsessed with seeing what the next death defying stunt would entail in a big cage or "ladders and chairs" match - basically who could get hit the most in the head and still manage to walk (stumble) away. Vince is the master of cashing in on it. The ring master who doesn't have to do SFA to make millions. He's doesn't give a damn about his employees. If you're hurt and you can't wrestle, you don't get paid. And don't worry, he's got hundreds on the sideline just BEGGING for an opportunity.
I would bet the majority of those "wrestlers" have some sort of drug abuse problem. Prescription drugs to dull the pain of their injuries? Steroids to keep their body? No one could last long under those conditions, but these guys would have a hard time making that much money anywhere else... supporting their family and continuing the status of life they're now used to. (We all know they can't turn to acting.)
There's a website that was discussed on the Edge (Toronto Alt. Rock radio station) that had a list of all the "wrestlers" who have died from the WWF/WWE company. It was a long list of short lives...

That may very well have been the case 5-10 years ago, but the business has changed quite a bit since the WWE(F) purchased WCW. The two companies would just keep trying to one up each other in a fight over fans and ratings by doing some pretty dangerous moves. Since then, Vince has very much toned down the amount of "high risk" moves and tried to make a more mat based wrestling product. In fact, there's actually a list of moves no longer allowed in the WWE for the reason that wrestlers were getting injured.
they still do insane stunts though...hell he's even got his own son Shane doing some of the craziest shit EVER (jumping off the titantron!!!!!!!! WTF?!?!?!?!)...the risks are all still there...banned list of moves or not...poeple get hurt ALL the time (a lot of them continue to wrestle through their injuries too)...wether or not you end up hearing about it or not.
