Or perhaps a mental illness that was never really acknowledged. Keep in mind there have been cases of women suffering from severe postpartum psychosis slaying their child and/or husband and then themselves. I am by no means condoning killing your family nor am I attempting to create excuses for it - I'm just playing Devil's Advocate.

I haven't continued to follow this story. I heard that they had all be found dead and then the police concluding it was a murder-suicide and that Benoit was responsible for the deaths. There was obviously an existing or brief lack of mental judgment in order for him to carry this out. Until the blanks are filled in (if they ever will be), it's easy to jump to conclusions and call him a shitbag. But as someone else pointed out... it doesn't really all add up.
she made him do it,steroids, mental illness, years of abuse on the body,etc...etc....the guys a murderer...PERIOD.I know we all scratch our heads and wonder why,and there may be outside factors involved, but internally he made the choice to let those factors effect him(his choices),and subsequently killed his family.all these lame excuses are just-cop outs so we can rationalize it.

perhaps that is the case, but why would he text his friends his home address and other things that make it appear that he wanted to be sure that everybody's bodies were found?
Something I heard, Beniot apparently had a check up with his family doctor on Friday and everything was normal.
The news is reporting that he used a wrestling move know as "The sleeper hold" to kill his retarded child.

Is that a joke?? If so, I think it's a pretty sh*tty one.

I don't think that's true.
From what I read, there were no marks on the kids neck and that they believe he was smothered with a pillow.

I just saw it on the news. I would not joke about something like that. Actually, I now regret even posting on this thread.
it's getting even weirder now..

On one hand, people edit shit into Wiki all the time, and his wife's death is a pretty obvious reason he'd be home. On the other hand, it was edited by someone in Stamford, which is the location of WWE HQ. Weird indeed.
CNN.com

"Daniel was found face down on his bed, but authorities said they do not know whether he was sleeping when he was killed. Ballard said authorities believe the child was asphyxiated using a choke hold. Benoit hung himself using the cord on a portable weight machine, Ballard said."

The WWE, based in Stamford, Conn., issued a statement Tuesday evening saying steroids "were not and could not be related to the cause of death."

"The physical findings announced by authorities indicate deliberation, not rage," the company said, adding Benoit tested negative April 10, the last time he was tested for drugs.

In other words, don't worry folks, our wrestlers are clean. A pyschopathic murderer, maybe, but definitely not a steriod user.

What a f*cking joke.

I kinda misread what I found earlier, but still not too sure if it happened that way:
(from http://www.pwtorch.com/artman/publish/a ... 0681.shtml)

"District Attorney Scott Ballard said the autopsy indicated that there were no bruise marks on Daniel's neck, so authorities are now assuming he could have been killed using a choke hold. "It's a process of elimination," he said.

So "he could have been killed" turned into "He was killed"

What a f*cking joke.

Indeed, makes me wonder why the Feds have not done any serious investigation into illegal steroid use in pro-wrestling.
Some random notes:

Benoit's doctor legally prescibed him steriods.

His office is has now been raided by the DEA(no arrests as of yet)

Some say that Benoit may have been stock-piling them, who knows?

Since the death of Eddie Guererro(sp?) the WWE have intstituted a wellness policy.

They've suspended a couple of people thus far, but nothing major.

They said that Benoit passed his test in April.
