Priests in America who love this movie, probably because it's propaganda for their religion, want to have special showings of the movie for young kids. This despite the fact that there are a lot of bloody torture scenes in the movie. Those are probably the same priests who were shocked and felt violated by Janet Jackson showing half her boob for half a second on tv. Talk about your double standards........
Confusedcratch:
I guess it's time to sue somebody..
All I have to say is that the movie is sponsoring a Nascar...
The movie has has its own Nascar? Geez, that is kinda funny. Lance, do you know who is driving it?
Jerry Christ, probably...you-know-who's redneck cousin.

Everybody's raging about the anti Semitism in this movie. I'm not a Christian so from an outsider's POV, I can ask the question how the hell do you tell the (fictional) story of Jesus without mentioning his (fictional) crucifixion? And since the Jews (supposedly) crucified him, how can it not look anti-Semitic? People should give this movie as little attention as possible.

It should never have been made...Mel Gibson is to Christianity what Leni Riefenstahl was to the Nazis.

Yeah sickening, isn't it?? I remember all of these 'christian scare films' I had to watch when I was young, messed me up for a long time, then I grew up and ran as far away from religion as possible. Definitely a double standard... :nooooo

I just lost all respect for Mel Gibson...he has been giving these interviews to support his movie...let me tell you, he is an ass. If I can find the articles, I will post them here.
They had one interview where he said he felt he had to show the crucifiction as it was portrayed in the Bible, he also said there were some scenes where some of the Jewish priests at the time DIDN'T want to crucify him because it would have made him a martyr, etc etc, but they gave in to the passions of the crowd and condemmed him. I think what he was trying to say was it wasnt Judaism as a religion responsible for the crucifiction, just some people acting in the name of the religion, which has happened in Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, etc etc. His dad, however, is a whole nother ball of wax. I couldnt believe it when they quoted him as saying the holocaust was mostly fictional. What an ass. They should give him a free ticket to Auschwitz and force him to sleep overnight there, then see if it's "fictional"
WHOSE dad said the Holocaust was fiction?! Did I miss something in this thread?!
Mel Gibson's dad was interviewed for an article and he said that the Holocaust was fiction Cry
if the Holocaust is fictional then so is the Internet.. and if that is the case, holy shit do I have an immagination that is very f*cking big! Confusedhock:

On a more serious note, I'd like to find out if Mel's father or any of his relatives faught in any wars and then tell him to his face that THAT war was mostly fictional!
His dad should go talk to my great aunt, and look at the serial number tattoed across her arm and then tell people it was mostly fictional....

Some people deserve to have their mouths permanently stapled shut, and if opened it should be punishable under some federal law, thrown into Alcatraz and put on desplay for the tourists....But seriously why do they let ignorant, and uninformed people speak...

Priests in dark theaters with scared children...

I prefered "The Life of Brian".
"Always look on the bright side of life..."
In my opinion, atheists and bible thumpers have the same thing in common; feverent belief in their religious(or non-religious) outlook, stubborn refusal to accept change or societal belief and a desire to impose their own beliefs on society in the name of the greater good. We can't prove or disprove the question of God's existence; all that exists is faith in some beign higher power, divine or not.
