Has anyone else ever seen the Radically hip play they are a HIP cover band I caught them in HicsVille Saskatchewan once they were pretty kewl

Have you ever seen The Practically Hip? I was underage when I last saw them and I got thrown out, but I heard two and a half songs and they didn't sound much like the Hip but they did great covers. I think they're a local band and it might even have abeen a once-off show because I've never seen anything else about them here.
I've seen the Practically Hip and another band Strictly Hip. I think it was Practically Hip where the band (obviously) doesn't look much like the real Hip, but the lead singer makes a real ass of himself trying to impersonate Gord. With the head bobbing, and shaking. Of course, that was about 10-12 years ago, and I don't know if he's calmed down a little, and tries to play the guitar with a blazer on now....
the practically hip are a great band and sound almost identical to the real hip. it is unfair to criticize a band that you havent seen
for 10-12 years anyway. they are a bunch of real hip fans who try to put on a good show. i'm sure there are a lot of people on this site who can come to their defense - lets have it.
I have also seen the Strictly Hip..they are pretty good. Jeremy(lead singer) does a decent impersonation of Gord. Funny how the cover bands name themselves :wink:

i know there are also bands called almost hip and wheat kings but i have never seen them
I guess a person's feeling about cover bands depends on the quality of the band you've seen. I've seen a local cover band here ( The Toys) that has done a decent cover of Poets and Hundreth, but they also have no clue about the bands they cover, they just take what's popular on the radio or things they like to hear. I went up to the lead singer of this band and told him that they did a good job of playing Poets and he asked me who the heck the Hip were cause he never heard of them.

There's a band in Ottawa called Little Bones and they're an awesome Hip cover band. The guy looks nothing like Gord, but is just as crazy and sounds just like him. They play a lot of stuff we don't hear from The Hip anymore -- and he does rants on occasions too. My friends and I see them almost every time they play.
I've seen Road Apples,not too baggy a job they did,did a pretty wicked Fully :thumb: got my foot a tappin, and also seen these dudes called ........ah shite I can't remember :roll: but also pretty good buncha fellas, talked with us in between setz as well.......

... yeah, Little Bones is awesome. I'm seen them a couple of times at O'Connors and the Hope Volleyball Tournament. None of them actually look like their respective players, especially 'Rob Baker'... he more resembles Goro from Mortal Kombat. There is serious energy when a band can pull off a tight mimic.

Hahaha. and the funniest part is that that guy is the only "professional musician" of the bunch. The rest them like work in high tech or something like that.
Does anyone have any links to these bands' websites or management information? I don't like cover bands myself but I know my husband would love to hire one for one of the occasional weekend bashes we have.
