Not trying to keep bringing this up, but there have been Buffalo rumors for a while now, with some as specific as two nights in November, and some saying the arena where the Sabres play is reserved.
As always, rumors are rumors, but a 103.3 The Edge DJ said today- "some rumors are true, and some rumors are true twice."
So there's that...
I think what you meant to say is rumors are
rumours.
A roadtrip to Buffalo would be brilliant!
Very interesting.
I'd love for this to be true though I think a return to the studio is most likely.
Heck, Dan Akroyd should call up Lorne Michaels and get the Hip back on Saturday Night Live. Who knows, their profile is very high these days and what an inspirational story.
It would be a favourite[i] trip I'm sure

On the Facebook forum someone in Halifax posted they heard on the radio that The Hip would head east this fall if Gord is feeling ok. Where there's smoke, there's fire.
is buffalo the only city outside canada where they can fill a hockey rink?
Pre- health problems, probably. With the current situation, maybe Detroit... Maybe a minor league sized building in Seattle, Chicago, or some close border towns. Late 90s was probably their US peak.

I'm sure if they played one big show in the UK, it would fill - no problem.
If theres one thing ive learned its that radio DJs very rarely have the inside scoop anymore. Ive heard so many rumors from local radio DJs as a pearl jam fan over the years that ive learned to put no stock in it anymore. Radio stations "present" or "bring to town" a band, but all this actually means is they paid to sponsor the show and advertise their station on the tickets, outside the show etc.

In the past, Buffalo and Detroit would likely would have been (and were) the only ones. But since the news about Gord, going west to east, I'm sure they could gather decent crowds in:
Seattle, Fargo or Minneapolis, Chicago, Buffalo, Syracuse, Boston.
Here's an idea: How about a month long residency in Vegas, playing every other night similar to this tour.

Or New Orleans...

oh man... as an east coaster, i want to believe this. but there is no way i'm going to get my hopes up
Billy Ray's Twitter is "TheHipsGuy." Last night after the show he tweeted a picture with Gord Downie and he hashtagged "let's do more."
It's not gonna happen. I wish it would. It won't. If something happens health wise in the US he's screwed. Out healthcare system is such that he'd have no help. Just my opinion.

Ha ha ha. As an American I've learned (especially on this forum) to type out French Canadian as "rumo(u)rs, colo(u)rs, favo(u)rites, etc..."
