I've seen some Hip boots on eBay before, but this is paticularly bad. I know that the subject has come up before, so has anyone ever figured out what is the best course of action to deal with this kind of thing?

That is bad, I made a few of those covers!

I just emailed the person and told them to cancel the auction or I will report them to ebay.
I'm not sure what the best thing to do with it is. I'd send the sellar an email informing him that he's an idiot. Make him aware that the auction is illegal and he should take it down or be reported. Maybe just report it right away without bothering with the idiot.

$100 US!!!?? Crazy bastard. It's too bad you can't put up notes on his auction page informing any potential bidders that all of these shows are available through the hip community via B&P.
this is the second time this guy tried to sell them. he posted it last week and i reported it. it was taken down and then put back up.
i just sent him an email giving him my 2 cents so hopefully he doesn't try and sell them again. here's the email i sent him.

hello,

i'm not sure who you are or who you think you are trying to sell bootlegs on ebay. if your not aware that's a big no-no. bootlegs are meant to be traded and shared with the rest of the hip community not sold for money. no one should ever buy a bootleg. and on another note, other people have put their hard time and effort into making those bootleg covers and your trying to make a profit out of their hard work. i would advise you to take down this ebay sale a.s.a.p. or else you will be reported.

This guy's been selling these boots separately off and on for a year or two, but it's the first time I've seen all of them together. He actually went through the trouble of shrinkwrapping them to give the appearance of store-bought CD's and quotes them as "never-opened."

Anyways, here's a link to the Ebay Help Center to report bootlegs:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/bootlegs.html
At the bottom of the page, click on "Report listing violations or problems with another eBay member"
Wow that is bad..but it someone wants to buy them.. well I don't know, the guy shouldn't be making a profit. But maybe a hip fan doesn't care about that and is just happy to have them? But wow $100us. I could see maybe $20.
so far nobody has placed a bid on it, which is good. Maybe the bootlegging community as a whole should think about pressuring ebay and other online auction communities to put links or info where you can get bootlegs by B+P? Sounds like a big chunk to chew, but just an idea.
Well best thing is, make a fake account and bid........
i remember seeing someone try to sell hip boots before and it was bid up to a ridiculus amount by some by the name "dont-sell-hip-bootlegs"

that was classic
